Hello and greetings from Western Kansas. My goal in posting a profile is to offer help in locating stones, photographing, and posting photographs for those who can't get to my prairie corner of the world. Located in the far reaches of western Kansas, near the Colorado, Oklahoma, and New Mexico lines, I have the unique advantage to find ancestors in an area that is not heavily populated nor frequently traveled. The area being historically known as the Dust Bowl, and following along the Santa Fe Trail route makes the searches even more interesting. Would be happy to help you find your ancestors along with my own. My love of history, and desire to understand the past has lead me on a rewarding and life changing journey. Permission is granted to use any of the posted photographs if for a respectful purpose. God Bless You and God Bless the USA! |

Sorry for the very late reply on your request. Due to lack of time and so many requests it is hard to complete them all in a timely basis. Also I have been off line for a very, very long time.
Thank you for the family connection for Hiram Wyatt’s wife, Mary Ann Starry Wyatt. The connection has been made.

That isn't necessary. Her mother Sadie was just a girlfriend to my grandmother. I could possible have letters from Sadie to my grandmother in the boxes I am going through.

"Kansas" (Marie) - You make it very difficult to reply to you, here is the message you sent me July 17 concerning this memorial:
Please connect Loyd Cochran to his family interred in the Norton Cemetery, Norton, Kansas. He was brother to Vance, Lyle, and Ross. Son of Effie and Arius Cochran. I have his death notice posted on ancestry.com. Loyd would have been my great uncle. Vance Cochran was my grandfather.
May I use the post of the stone for he and Dora (Eudora) on ancestry.com.
Thanks so much! Marie"
Marie - I would add links to his parents if I had Find A Grave memorial numbers for them. As you may know, Ancestry becomes the "owner" of anything you add to their site, so please use the link feature they have which allows you to link to the memorial for Lloyd, this way Find A Grave and I get credit for our work. Thank you,

I was wondering if you are somehow related to the John Patrick and Sadie Garrett Rooney family. I see you put a picture of Leta Effie Cochran Rooney on her Find A Grave site. I don't believe they are related to me but I have letters from Sadie to my grandmother. Thank you for putting information and maintaining information for families to connect with their families.

Kansas Sunflower, are you a descendant of John Thomas Cochran? If so, my Mom and I would love to correspond with you.

Thank you for submitting the obituary for John Lawn. I abstracted the information and wrote an original bio in accordance with FAQ #89.

Your very welcome for the picture. I was working in Goodland, Kansas when I started my findagrave fix and enjoyed traveling around the area. My job covered 19 counties in western Kansas, 4 counties in extreme southwest Nebraska and several in northeast Colorado. So, I tried to hit those areas when I could.
