Born in Burbank California, fermented in the Napa Valley until I was 18 and entered the Air Force. Got out after 12 years and added to my list of jobs/occupations. I was "Retired" from USAA in 2003 as an Instructional Systems Developer (Trained programmers and users). Since then I've gone on to remodeling work with special emphasis on handicap problem solutions |
I got into Genealogy via my father-in-law who had gathered a whole file cabinet of information on his extended family, but didn't own a computer. Spent the next 14 years working with him, eventually had a tree with more than 5K names, and found his (and my wife's) line goes back to the Mayflower.
The primary project I've taken on is to do as many memorials and pictures as I can of San Fernando Cemetery #3, #22, and #23. At this point I've completed pictures of every grave site in Section 3W and #23 and have created memorials for all but about 8. If someone wants a picture from that cemetery they need to contact the cemetery and get the Section and Plot information. With over 38,000 interments there is no way to find the needle without that information. Even with it, many of the sites do not have stones, and there are quite a few where stones are missing/gone, but I'm willing to try.
If you find I've created a memorial for someone you're researching, I'm willing to supply a high resolution copy of the picture, and in most cases I can also supply a Google-Earth place mark that leads you to within a few feet of the marker(s). It's really neat to look down from the satellite image and be able to make out the stone itself.

I received a request from J Fay Contributer #47630089 to correct information for Myrtle May Warrell Spollin #112927219, however, I don't manage her memorial just her husband's, so can you please correct the following on her memorial? Maiden name: Warrell; Married: 17 Jan 1901 in Springfield, Clark Co, OH to J. R. Spollin. You already have them linked. Thanks so much and Happy Hunting! D Drake

Thank you so much for posting John's marker photo. I will ask the cemetery about a marker for William and Mattie, but as you have photographed the area, there probably is no stone. (Terribly sad. I'd need a billion dollars to add stones to all the relatives that don't have one.)
May I use that marker photo on my blog and family trees?
Thank you again,

Thanks, Steve, for posting a photo of my Uncle Sam's tombstome. I'd never seen it before, as the only time I visited the gravesite was the day of his funeral...almost 25 years ago. Judy Wilds

Thank you so much for trying to locate the grave site of my great grandmother. Her life and that of my grandmother's has many mysteries which I have not been able to solve. The plot number, section, and lot number were obtained from the cemetery office staff. I understand that this cemetery is very large and old.
I appreciate all the time and effort you have spent in trying to locate her grave. Thank you again.
