I am interested in the Anglemyer, Schuster/Rose, Wilkerson, Kraetschman names for myself. Tanner, Hunsley, Abbott, and Marsh for my hubby. |
I would love to help you if you need some. Just email me if I can help you.
YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE MY PHOTOS OF YOUR ANCESTOR AS YOU WISH.
IF YOU WANT ME TO DO A TRANSFER OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBER, EMAIL ME. I will consider each request as they come in. The way I see it--these are guidelines only, not hard and fast rules. So, if you have an odd situation with your ancestor or even if it is a friend--let me know. I am not related to very many of the names that I "manage". So, don't be afraid to ask for a transfer or whatever your situation involves.
Taking photos--I want to explain my thinking behind the way I take the photos.
I feel that it is a privilege that someone else is entrusting me--to take the best possible photo of their ancestor that I can. Therefore, I take a whisk broom with me and some water. I always clean up the stones before I take a photo. It does not take long and so improves the photo. Not to mention it just seems more respectful of the person that I am photographing. Sometimes, the descendant needs date/name verified. That is difficult to achieve if there is a bunch of debris on the marker. Debris like pine needles, branches and so on. It only take a minute if that long to wipe that all away.
Water-I take some of that just for any bird droppings on the stone. A bit of water on the droppings, wait just a sec., and the bird droppings are gone. You have to sweep, wipe away. But, the idea is that you don't use anything harsh to get rid of them.
If it is bird droppings mixed with tree pitch/sap--no chance of removing that.
So, if you are going to fulfill any photo requests for me--I would appreciate your doing it the way I have outlined it for when I fulfill other peoples requests.
Please, when posting a photo request--if known, please include all names-family names and so on. It makes it easier on the one doing the hunting if all info is known. Like, if you don't know the death date for sure, but think it's about 1910-say that. It will make a difference as to how soon your request is fulfilled.
Just in case someone wants to know someday--My source for DOB, DOD, names, marriages, military and so on is--digitalarchives.wa.gov--obviously it only helps me out here in Washington State.
I don't like having to pay any web site money for what actually should be free--esp. in the case of a 100 year old marriage license, death cert., and so on. So, I don't do Ancestry.com--although I did just for a trial period of like 6 months.
I have looked at Familysearch.org--have been unable to figure out that site, how to navigate around, so not interested in a site that is not user friendly.
The above web site is ALWAYS my source. The only other source I have here is our library.
So, please don't ask me who or what my source is--I've already told you.
7-25-14 Due to a very bad and windy storm earlier this week in Spokane, Wa Riverside & Greenwood Cemeteries are temporarily closed so that they can clear all the damaged trees away safely. This probably applies to all 6 of the cemeteries they manage but I don't know anything about the other 4. Lots of trees have been uprooted and in several the markers were also uprooted because they were close to the tree--so when the wind pulled the tree out of the ground along came some of the markers. I knew the storm was bad but did not realize it was that bad. Please be a bit more patient--they'll be doing damage control for a while. Sue

Thank you for the word on Amos Edward McGill and the offer to transfer. As of this time, I don't know that there is any relationship connection but if I find any in the future I might then ask for a transfer.
Thanks again, appreciate your help.
Thanks so much for the excellent photos, I appreciate your time and talent. Also your note that Riverside Cem. is same as Riverside Memorial Park, that does solve that mystery -- on to the next one...

You filled my photo request for Myra Hartsuck McGill and I have now added a memorial for her husband, Zachary, and would like for you to add the photo to his memorial also if you would. THANK YOU!

I went ahead and moved her to Riverside.
|Doris Christensen||MYRA MAUD McGILL|
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort in locating Myra's gravesite and posting it to her memorial. It means a lot to many of us researching our McGill line - some of them have been hard to find!
Thanks again, keep up the good work!
