Hello, my name is Karl Stelly. I'm 62 years old, and I'm originally from Lafayette, Louisiana. I've lived in Baytown, Texas, Tulare, California, Great Falls, Montana, Killeen, Texas, Manassas, Virginia, and Louisville, Kentucky. I moved to Gettysburg with my wife about 10 years ago. I enjoy roaming the battlefield and photography, and studying the history of Gettysburg and the Civil War. I have quite a few photographs of Gettysburg and other Civil War battlefields and other historic sites posted on Google Earth. I use the name "Seven Stars" on Panoramio and Google Earth. If you see photos there by "Seven Stars," that's me!

Feel free to use any of the headstone or grave photographs I have taken for your genealogy work, projects, etc. There is no need to ask permission first. I have no problem with people using my photos on other websites. Just give me credit for taking the photos, is all I ask.

**** NEW !!!! ****

I have recently created Virtual Cemeteries for each individual State Plot in the Gettysburg National Cemetery. This enables people to have very handy listings of all the known burials within each State Plot at Gettysburg. I have also included a Virtual Cemetery for the United States Regulars buried in the National Cemetery (at least all the KNOWN ones). Enjoy!

Herbert Kennedy

Can I have your permission to use the tombstone image for our web page honoring our Chester County KIA's?

We are working on his story, and would like to include the stone.

Much thanks

He is my father.
I'd like to manage his site!
Would that be OK with you?

Thank you for creating a page for Calvin. He was one of 400 men from my unit in Vietnam that became a casualty there. My memorial for him is at the following link:

Ai Maddox
Thank you so much for the transfer of this memorial. I descend from his older brother, Matthew who fought with him in the battle of Gettysburg. Matthew was shot in the leg the first day of battle and Ai was killed the next day. Matthew spend the rest of the war at Fort Dennison and his disability kept him from providing above the minimum for his family. When he died he left minor children and was buried in a small cemetery in Kansas. Just this past week we were able to obtain a stone for him from the VA and have it placed. Thanks again for your work. I may not have been able to find him without your help.

RE: LTJG William Rose - Gettysburg Nat'l Cem
Served with VF-3/VF-6; Felix The Cat Fighter Squadron; Pacific Theater.Service Number: 129877

7/12/1943 F6F-3 08856 VF-3
The info I found doesn't list the
Pilot, or the Cause of the loss.
But this was Lt. J.G. Rose's plane,
an F6F-3; serial number or bureau
number 08856; from the air craft
carrier, USS Saratoga; not sure
what the down NOUMEA means, other than
the location of loss, the SOPAC is
South Pacific.

God Bless. Patti
