Dorthy Ella Crawford
Maria,
Please forgive me. Upon further research, I found a marriage record for Ella Miller and Lafayette Crawford dated 3 August 1930 that took place in Acuņa, Mexico. The record states that he was 53 and she was 42. Since the marriage year was 1930, that makes it obvious that she was not the mother of his children, as they were born in the early 1900s.

I apologize for my mistake.

Dorthy Ella Crawford
Maria,
I am writing because I am questioning the validity of the connection you have for Dorthy Ella Crawford with Herman Lafayette Crawford.

Herman Lafayette was my mother-in-law's maternal grandfather. Records show that Dorthy died in 1972, and I married into the family in 1969, nothing was ever mentioned that Herman was ever married twice. Not by my mother-in-law, nor by any of the still-living grandchildren. The mother of his children is Mary Catherine Rushing.

Just thought I'd mention that I believe the link is incorrect.

Thank you for your condolences, Amiga.
I live alone and stay busy going to the YMCA Mon-Fri where I have made a wonderful group of friends. I also spend time singing and uploading songs to youtube... And, of course, the never-ending chores of housework.
How about you? What have you been up to?

Hola Amiga Maria...
I'm still here, but not active in genealogy since I hit a wall in three of my searches. I don't come here often either. I received an email from a member here and when I came, I saw your message. I wanted to thank you for your nice comment, so I messaged you. As always, it's a pleasure to hear from you.
Janie passed away two and a half years ago on April 14, 2014.
I'm sorry to hear you've been ill. I hope you feel better soon.
God bless.

RE: Burnsed-Near Medina Dam
We do not know the name of my great-grandmother who died while Lee J. Burnsed was working on Medina Dam. It must have been cholera or typhoid fever.
I wish I knew more. Her death was between 1911 to 1913.
I really appreciate your quick response.

Burnsed-Near Medina Dam
Hello Maria,

I have been searching for a grave site for my grandmother's mother for years now. My grandmother (deceased) never knew her mothers first name. She passed away during the time her father was helping with the building of the Medina Dam (1911-1913?). My grandmother said they live in wagons like the stereotype gypsy wagons. She only remembers that a bunch of men burned all of her mothers belongings including the wagon. The children were placed in an orphanage at a Catholic church until her father was finished with the dam. Are you familiar with ANY grave-sites with the last name of BURNSED?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I have sent money twice to Austin in search of a death certificate, never have received anything, but they do cash my check each time!
