Bio and Links
Bio Photo Please feel free to ask for transfers of relatives and loved ones. I'm also happy to add/correct information. It helps if you make requests via the "edit" tab on the memorial, as this sends me a link to the correct memorial, saving confusion. When requesting links, please send the memorial number *and* name to avoid mistakes.

If I've created a memorial for your loved one, and you prefer there be no memorial on Find-a-Grave, please accept my apologies. I'll be glad to delete it or transfer it to you, whichever you prefer.

Please, please review the site rules which are listed as "Frequently Asked Questions." They're immensely helpful and will save a world of miscommunication. In keeping with those rules, I don't link to burial unknowns or list names of survivors likely to be living.

Please remember that photo volunteers give their time and efforts for no other reason than to help others. A simple "thank you" is always appropriate and appreciated.

* Disclaimer:
Anyone can add unverified (and sometimes erroneous) data to memorials, so it's always best to research & verify for yourself.

Have fun and happy graving! :)

RE: Map for Van Vleck-Bancker Cemetery
Thanks so much for adjusting the map. It looks much more accurate now.

Thank you also for sending a note to the Rensselaer County DAR. I hope it brings this little forgotten cemetery some attention that it deserves. Take care!

Map for Van Vleck-Bancker Cemetery
Are you able to change the GPS location for the Van Vleck-Bancker Cemetery? The one that just got added on there is off a little bit. The cemetery is located closer to the road than what it currently shows. If possible, could you change it to 42.78599, -73.64353? Thanks so much for your help.

RE: Thank you!
I did add a "gate shot" of the cemetery, as well as a map, but they are still pending review. I think that usually takes a couple of days for the administrators to approve them. If you need them sooner, just send me your email address and I will give you all the information. I thought the cemetery was a very sad, and overgrown neglected mess. I did photograph all of the stones that I was able to locate. Luckily the stone for the Revolutionary War soldier and his wife were still standing, but from the list of burials in there, it appears that a lot of stones are now either buried or missing. It really needs a lot of repair work in there to clean it out and find those missing stones. I am glad the photos were able to help you though! Take care.

RE: James Dorris
Isaish Dorris and his family are directly related to my husband. We personally traveled to the cemetery in July 2007 and took all the tombstone photos and I posted them on Find-A-Grave and connected as many as I could find. My mother-in-law was with us and gave us all the family history. Most of them are located in Dorris Cemetery #2. Isaish Dorris is his ggg-grandfather.

RE: Lucinda and James Brizendine
Thanks for the info. Because of your message, I discover that the El Paso Library has a lot of Tennessee Genealogy books, including the Sumner Cemetery book. Who would have thought? It's only an hour away, so I'll go and check out the Sumner AND Hickman records, Thanks!

RE: Joel Denning cemetery request?????
The Joel Denning cemetery is located where the map indicates, we took some pictures, a few of them did not turn out (hard to read). We added two pictures of the cemetery. Just as you thought there are names in that cemetery that do not belong. Some of them are in a Denning cemetery outside of Benson, NC.
