Bio

I can't think of anything more fun on a road trip than actually finding the cemetery you are looking for and then the excitement when spotting the gravestones. Digital cameras have taken so much of the anxiety out of this endeavor these days.

I have similar feelings looking on Find A Grave for my family. I am very appreciative to all who add their photos and obituaries on these memorials.

I have been working on family history seriously since 1985 when my niece asked me a question I could not answer. I looked for that puzzle piece and that led to the next. It never ends!

My special interests are:
My Page Family line which begins in SC with the children of John and Anne Page of Laurens Co, SC.

The descendants of Josiah McClure and Sarah Harris which includes Rev. Jonathan Burleson and his wife Rebecca McClure.

My Kenney line which begins with Edward Dunlap Kenney and Nancy Shumate
****
I am also interested in my local history and support our genealogical society.

I share my research freely so any additional information I have on families I will gladly share. Good luck in your searches!

SCIO
When you think about Scio, you think of Newcomb.
You think of pencils, desks and old chewing gum.

When you think of Scio, you think of Big Red.
You think of hay bales and soft beds.

You think of the Market, The Bridge, Old Mill and dusty window sills.
The "gentle" football games, the teacher's names, repaired pipes, pumphouse lights.

Here in Scio
There are solemn things you will find. We think of algebra and equations, Friday night scores, church, research, and midnight chores.

Here in Scio, that is exactly what you find.
