My great-grandmother Nielsine Todsen was one of Anne Petersens younger sisters. The Jorgensens came from Denmark in two waves.
I never met Anne Petersen, Anne Hyer or Holger, but Sophie Lund used to come to Clinton to visit my grandmother, Anne Voged, who is her first cousin.
My mother has several photos of the Jorgensen family and subsequent families, including the Petersen's, Jacob Jorgensen, Johanne Thomsen, Carl Jorgensen, Nielsine Todsen, Deta (Marie) Holm and Christiana Bridge. The first generation kept in touch, but has slipped away over time.
Mom and I were talking about Sophie and Jens, who I never met. She loved him and said he always had the best stories. Several years ago Sophie's daughter came to Clinton and we compared photos. She was able to identify several unknowns in my mom's photos and visa-versa. It seems like it was yesterday Marcela stopped to visit. That was over 15 years ago.
My great aunt Tina Moritzen was also very close with Mabel Bentley, Anne Hyer's daughter.
Please let me know your interests. I would glady share any information my mother has.

I am trying to locate info on John mcdaniel, my mother's father. He was killed between 1917 to 1919 in a sawmill accident when my mother, Lola May was a small child. Any help u could provide is appreciated. My grand mother was Elizabeth Ann Lawrence (maiden name). She was AKA Bird/Birdie.

Hi Daphne they are my relatives.
|Marsha Williams Byrd of Missouri||Opal Eskew|
Thank you for the birth date. Are you a family member of hers? I lost her obituary and can't put in that info. If you have it would greatly appreciate if you would send it to me or I can transfer her to you. Thanks Marsha

Dear Daphne, Thanks for the transfer!!! I am working on the biographies of all 992 men who served in the 86th Illinois and have now located the final resting place of 887 of the 992 men who served in the 86th. Less than 400 of them had Find A Grave sites. Thanks for making sure that David Birkett had a Find A Grave site and Thanks for allowing me the honor of working on his biography, I have a lot of work yet to do, but check out his biography that I have already added. Thanks for all you are doing for Find A Grave and Thanks again for allowing me this honor. Sincerely, Baxter
I added this memorial when working from an online inventory of burials in the Fairview Cemetery. I tried very hard not to create any duplicates, but when looking at the Utterback records, I find that I have created several. I will immediately delete them all, including the one I did for your gr-gr-grandfather.
Sorry about that.
