I am very much enjoying doing our family genealogy and learning about our family. The "Lemon/Coburn" side, the "Eastman/Beals" side (my mother's side) and the "Reid/Dull" side (my wife's). If anyone has any stories about our families I would love to see them. I call myself the "Lemon FIG" (Family Information Gatherer). My data also has an extensive amount of extended family information in it too.

I am working with Family Tree Maker 2019. I really enjoy working with this program. This project helps to keep my mind active. Originally from Galesburg, Michigan we now live in Lady Lake, Florida.

Please help me with corrections. If you have additional info or a correction to one or more of my memorials please let me know. I want all my information as complete and correct as possible. Yes, occasionally I'll make a typographical error or read a headstone wrong (sometimes 8 looks like 6, etc.) so I'm happy to make corrections.

I do read all suggested edits to make sure it appears correct and not in a great conflict with the data I have posted

Submitting a SAC ("Suggest a Correction" on the Edit tab) is the easiest way to give me the information I need for corrections or transfer requests. This may be the easiest but I much prefer an email. If you send me an email PLEASE have all the FAG numbers so I know who I'm looking for. I have over 39,500 memorials posted so I'm not going to try to find who you want me to correct. I'm happy to give you credit for your addition or correction. LOL, that way I don't take the blame if you're wrong.

BEFORE you post a memorial please be sure to check to see if there is a memorial already posted. Duplicate memorials make it confusing for another researcher knowing which one to link to. I have posted memorials up to 8 years prior to someone else but they knew more information than I did so they posted their memorial and then asked me to delete my posting, saying that because they had more information theirs took precedence. VERY inconsiderate. I, and most other members, am ALWAYS willing to correct any mistake or add any additional information or link. Let's keep this FREE Find A Grave website for it's original intention and respect each other. We are not in this for a contest. We are trying to help distant family members find the burial location of their family members.

Connie and I took Genealogical trips researching our families and taking pictures of headstones in many cemeteries. We have been to Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and done extensive research in Niagara, York Co. and Norfolk Co. Canada recording cemeteries. If I know we have family members in a cemetery I usually take pictures of every legible, and some barely legible, headstones.

These trips have afforded us the pleasure of meeting many distant cousins and we even found the original "Lemon" house built in 1809 and still being lived in in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. That story is posted with John Lemon. I had the pleasure of talking with a man that had grown up in the house and could tell me many stories of its history.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Consequently I don't always record every inscription on the headstone. It is already written in stone. If you feel that is important I'm always happy to add it for you.

We don't take all these pictures as if we're in some sort of a contest. We do it so we can help other people researching for their family members. I much prefer having a picture of the headstone. It is my belief that in death the family is much more likely to record the proper/correct information. It is true that upon rare occasions an engraver will make a mistake but much less likely than a census taker. Census records are a good guide but some people are very lackadaisical in giving the correct information to the census taker or the census taker is only trying to earn a pay check and just writes down what he/she wants, the way he/she hears it and many times very unledgible.

Unfortunately, Connie passed away on February 12, 2011. I will carry on but researching is not the same without her help. I truly miss being able to use her as a sounding board for ideas and problems. We really enjoyed traveling and taking photos of cemeteries.

I have since married Pat and we don't get to the cemeteries as much but I still research online near daily. I try to answer my mail as soon as possible.

Family research can be an addiction, it is for me, but it can be very rewarding and is a great avenue for meeting and corresponding with many distant relatives. I wish everyone happy hunting in your research.
