I was born and raised in Kansas. I moved to NW Houston in 1986. I am a mom to two History teachers that I could not be more proud of.|
I find cemeteries comforting and peaceful. Therefore it is only fitting that I take pictures while I am in one. I want future generations to be able to easily find information on their relatives. The internet is a wonderful tool to use in this way.
I volunteer my time as a National Memorial Lady at Houston National Cemetery. We are a group of 30 ladies who attend each and every Veterans service that is held there. I also am a Senior Ride Captain for the Patriot Guard Riders who escort our military safely to their final resting place on motorcycles. I have a special gratitude for our military men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice as well as all who served the USA proudly.
If you are requesting a transfer for a particular memorial, please let me know what relation that you are to the deceased. I will make consideration at that point. If you want to use any of my grave stone pics, feel free to....no need to ask.
America....Home of the Free because of the BRAVE.

I get what you are trying to do with the vets. This is my father and something our family would like to do. There is a grieving period as to why we don't jump on Find A Grave and write this up. This happened with my daughter when she died last year and I fought for the right to do her memorial not a stranger. Please delete this one for my father so we can do it properly.

thanks for the photo

Thank you very much for locating my relative. Is there any other documents I could/should ask the Veteran Cemetery for to confirm this is my relative?

Thank you so much for the photograph of Frank's gravestone! I haven't quite figured out how he and I are related, but I am sure that we ARE related - probably some kind of cousins. I've been tracking all Kabrich relatives who served in the military, and this is a nice photo to have. Please excuse the tardiness of my thanks, but rest assured I am very grateful for your time and effort! Robin

|Donald Ward||Thank You|
Jan, after I sent a thank-you note for the Means photo, I read your bio and had to send another note to thank you for what you do at the National Cemetery. As a veteran of the Vietnam Era myself, I can't thank people like you enough for what you do for those who have, as Abraham Lincoln said, given that last full measure of devotion.

HEADSTONE PHOTO FOR CARRIE PAULINE (KENT) MEANS:
Thank you very much for locating this headstone and taking and posting the excellent photo. Since you took the photo, would you be so kind as to also post it to Wyatt Brittain Means, Findagrave memorial no. 3116330? Thanks for what you do as a Findagrave photo volunteer!

Thank you for taking time out of YOUR day for me and getting the very nice headstone photo taken and up onto Find a Grave for Moses Goodson. Your time is appreciated by me.
Thanks so much for taking the pix. Know that is a huge cemetery. Linda
