Having resided in Dallas County, and Mesquite,Tx,my entire life, I have become intrigued with the many small or private cemeteries in Dallas,Kaufman,Van Zandt Counties. Some dating back to the mid or early 19th century, also the cemeteries of East Texas,as my ancestry resided there. Some are neat and well tented. However some have been grossly negleted or vandalized. I fear that much history of the early settlement of our great state will begone forever. If I have made error in my information, please feel free to let me know so I can correct it. If you see I have added a relative and you would like to add more information than what I have, please let me know and I will I will tranfer the memorial to you so you can enter your own. If you have any other questions please e-mail me. I will be glad to answer them.
DEAR ANCESTOR Your tombstone stands among the rest; Neglected and alone. The name and date are chiselled out On polished, marbled stone. It reaches out to all who care It is too late to mourn. You did not know that I exist You died and I was born. Yet each of us are cells of you In flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse Entirely not our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled One hundred years ago Spreads out among the ones you left Who would have loved you so. I wonder if you lived and loved, I wonder if you knew That someday I would find this spot, And come to visit you. Frank
Please submit any additions, corrections, biographies, family links or requests for transfer, o me under "EDIT" and "SUGGEST A CORRECTION" on the memorial site. If you do not include memorial link numbers, links will not be made.
Please don't ask for a transfer unless your request falls under these FAG guidelines. Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren." " Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred.
Please specify your relationship when requesting transfers. I am no longer transfering outside the Findagrave guidelines. I am having a difficult time pleasing everyone.
Thanks to all the volunteers for finding gravesites and photographing them for me. I am happy to try and do the same. Please feel free to use any of the gravesite photos for your family history

 | RE: Emmie Thank you--she was a real sweet woman--her husband Bill, had a gorgeous baritone and my ex-father in law had a beautiful tenor--when they sang duets everyone was mesmerized. She and Bill and my father-in law and mother in law were long time friends--when their respective spouses passed they married--for convenience and company--strictley platonic so I did not ask you to link them--some of Emmie's progeny are still alive and Bill was the match that really mattered.Johnnie | | | Donna Watson Mills
 | RE: Bertha Everett Oh Great! I would love to know the connection. she is my grandmother. I am interested in doing some family history but can find no one in my immediate family-anuts, uncles, cousins that have done any research. in my effort to start, I stumble across this site and was hoping to get some more information. Do you have any memorials that might have some family history? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks so much!
