Bio Photo I have been doing family research for a little over 38 years now (began in 1976). I originally started working mainly on my LOCKLIN family. Over the years I have expanded my work on various family lines. Currently I am focusing on the following:

My Paternal Lines:
LOCKLIN, FOKES, McLENNAN, FULCHER, MERCER, ZACHRY, GUTHRIE, BURKE, SMITH, LARGE, PAGE and many others connected to these surnames.

My Maternal Lines:
BENAD, HERRING, WALL, STEELE

My Sons' (Trent & Terry) Paternal Lines:
TAYLOR, GARNER, GRAY, DANCER, RUNNELS, WINKLER, PASEMANN

My Granddaughter's (Kayrinn) Maternal Lines:

My Grandson's (Colby) Maternal Lines:
HILL, LOVE, WEBB, BIEHLE

My Very Significant Other's (JR) Lines:

*********************************
I have created a LOCKLIN group page on Facebook titled Descendants of Samuel Locklin (1744-????). If you are a descendant of Samuel Locklin, please contact me on Facebook so I can add you to the group page. Currently, we have 329 descendants in the group. We are sharing photos, stories and other information on the group page. It is a "private" group which is by invitation only and only those in the group can read the posts and information and view the photos added there.
My profile name on Facebook is:
Sarah Locklin Taylor.
**********************************

If you find errors or duplicate/multiple entries, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you have additional information you would like added to one the entries, I'll be most happy to add the information for you, or if the memorial is of one of your family members, I would be pleased to transfer it to your FindAGrave membership ID.

I have had many family members transferred to my membership profile and have worked to add family information to all of them. Be assured that I would never ask to have a memorial transferred to my membership for the sake of numbers. That is not my goal. I have numerous Virtual Cemeteries that are set up to hold members of the various direct lines/branches of my family tree.

I would like to thank all of the kind contributors who have been so nice to create them in the first place and then graciously allowing me to have them transferred. I would also like to thank all of the kind volunteer photographers and those that photograph the cemeteries as a hobby. You are doing a great service to preserve these cemeteries through digital imaging and are helping to preserve the memory of those that have gone before us.

I can't tell you how many additional family members of mine have been found by Bud and his lucky charm, Vicky Sue. He has been most generous with his time in photographing headstones throughout a 4 county area of GA for me.
~♥~ Thank you, Bud and Vicky Sue! ~♥~

Another Special Thanks to Kerin McAfee for borrowing her Dad's 1948 Thorndale High School Year Book to scan the Senior picture of my Mom, Henrietta Marie Benad.
~♥~ Thank you, Kerin! ~♥~

Very special thanks goes to Juel and Blessings* Family Ties for sponsoring my Dad and Mom's memorials. Also, special thanks to Gods Special Angel for sponsoring my 1st Childhood Friend's memorial.
~♥~ Thank you, Juel, Carolina Angel and Gods Special Angel! ~♥~
Please visit Kenneth Edward Lipke [Juel's Dad], Maude Lola Gillespie Gaydon [Carolina Angel's Grandmother] and Gods Special Angel's Parents and leave a flower or token of respect.

Last but not least, I would like to thank the creator of FindAGrave, Jim Tipton, and his wonderful staff for one of the best Genealogical sites available online. You have truly created a great source and network for genealogists to search, find and contribute information.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~
My personal request to you....PLEASE, if you have a transfer request use the "Suggest a correction" and include your FindAGrave Contributor #, so that I can simply click on the link and transfer it to you. This process will automatically generate an email to you stating that the memorial has been transferred. It is also appreciated if you will include your relationship to the person you are requesting be transferred. I will not transfer a memorial simply by your "telling" me to transfer the memorial to you. I don't follow the suggested transfer guidelines, but it is nice to know what relation, if any, that you have to the memorial you are requesting. I have, in some cases, transferred High School Classmates, surrogate mothers, etc. Please include your relationship/reason for requesting the transfer.
Also, I would greatly appreciate it if you would NOT leave a correction or request to add additional information to memorials on the message board below - it makes it much more difficult to perform these tasks, especially on multiple requests listed in one message. While this may be easier for you - it is not as easy for me.
Notice....
If you send an email to me with NO SUBJECT, it will be deemed as SPAM and deleted.
I hope you understand.
Thank you!!
God Bless All
Augustus Thomas Dunn # 21590663
Hello Sarah:
I am very distantly related to the Dunn line and researching. I'm hoping you can help me with some info and solve this puzzle for me. I have a Willard E. Dunn in my tree born Nov. 3, 1863 Whitewright, Grayson County, Texas, died March 12, 1945, Sanger, Denton County, Texas. His death cert. lists his father as Augustus Thomas Dunn & his mother as Matilda C. Thomas, his son Leander Willard Dunn is the informant on his death cert. however when I look at census's for his parents his father was named Leander not Augustus, (the mothers name is correct). Then I found a findagrave.com memorial for his mother Matilda Caroline Thomas Dunn # 6637909 and there is some info added to memorial by a William Perhealth (I have also sent him a message asking for more info on Augustus) that says 1 of Leander & Matilda's children was a son named Augustus Thomas Dunn and there is no mention of a son named Willard on this memorial (but I see that quite often, some of the children will be mentioned on a memorial but not all). So now I'm thinking Willard's son who was informant on his death cert had wrong name for his grandfather and gave name of his fathers brother instead? Again, an easy mistake to make especially when grief stricken etc. However as I have been researching Augustus Thomas Dunn I have not found him in any census's for Leander & Matilda Dunn, if Augustus was born about 1854 he should be in the 1860 and probably 1870 census with his parents but he's not. So now I'm wondering if perhaps he is a nephew of Leander and Matilda or something and someone's genealogy is off a little? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing back from.
Thanks,
Tootz
I see you left flowers and a note on the memorial for my father, Ercil Meeks Spivey. You indicated you were 5th cousins once removed with my mother, Daisy Marie Zachry.
Thank you.
21160633 - DeLaRosa
I have submitted an edit regarding spelling of the last name based on what is on the marker at the grave. It seems there are families with the spelling DeLa Rosa and families with the spelling DeLaRosa. The obituary has it one way and the stone appears to have it another. Have a look and you be the judge. Thanks, joe
Nancy Doggett's death
I'm sorry for putting this info here. I am unable to send you an email from my computer.
The Madisonian September 18, 1931
MAN KILLS HIS MOTHER-IN-LAW
Monday morning early, near Watkinsville, in Oconee county, occurred a
tragedy in which Robert White, of Athens, shot and killed his mother-in-law,
Mrs. W.S. Doggett at her home. The tragedy arose over possession of the child
of the Whites, who had been separated for some time. In the occurrence White
shot at his wife with a pistol, but missed her and the bullet struck Mrs.
Doggett, inflicting a death wound.
White immediately made his escape in an automobile and drove by Booth's gas
station in the edge of Madison, and purchased two gallons of gas, an hour
later returning and buying two more gallons. He had not been apprehended as
we go to press.
Mr. and Mrs. Doggett formerly resided at Apalachee, he being section forman
on the Central railroad, and are remembered by many of our people.
Additional Comments:
Typo corrected: original article gave victim's name as Mrs. W.F. Doggett.
Mrs. W.S. Doggett was the former Nancy A Brown, married to William Shade
Doggett, son of William Young Doggett and grandson of Shadrach Doggett and
Jane Vickers. Daughter's name was Dollie Doggett, married to perpetrator
Robert L. White
The Madisonian October 16, 1931
ROBERT WHITE CAUGHT IN ALBANY THURSDAY
Robert White, who shot and killed his mother-in-law, Mrs. W. S. Doggett, at
her home near Watkinsville, on Sept., 14th, was captured near Albany, Ga., on
Thursday, and brought back to Athens jail for safe keeping by Sheriff Crowley,
of Oconee county.
White has been in hiding in an old house near a relative since the commission
of the crime, and still held the pistol with which he did the shooting. He was
surrounded in the house, upon being reported, and found in bed, but offered no
resistance to ar4rest. White claims he shot Mrs. Doggett in self-defense,
believing she was attempting to shoot him, but the facts show the woman had no
pistol either in hand or house.
He will be held for trial without bond.
JoAnne Floyd Miller
Greetings, the memorial you created in 2008 for JoAnne Miller is a bit premature, Find A Grave# 31691814. She is alive and well as I visited with her yesterday at Henry County Genealogical Society. Perhaps this memorial should be taken down out of respect to her.
