Hello everyone, my name is Lisa, and I enjoy cemetery hunting in my home state of Florida. Long time advocate for cemetery preservation and recording the history of cemeteries in the US and Canada.|
Currently I am researching and gathering information from cemeteries in Volusia County Florida, Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, Northern Kentucky, the Western area of Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Vermont and New Hampshire. If you notice a mistake or have further information you would like added to any grave I have added PLEASE let me know, I will be more than happy to change or add anything. I am also happy to transfer listings to family and friends who want to keep them up to date.
I have a lot of time on my hands at the moment. This also gives me a lot of time to research pictures and travel to cemetery's. Please keep it nice when you comment to me. I swear I'm a nice person.
If you are a family member or friend who would like the listing transferred to you please use the edit tab on a memorial to leave me a message. I will respond to you as fast as I can, but no later than 1 week if I am on another work project.
I'm really not picky about who I transfer a memorial to since I am not related to most of the people in the memorials I have added. I don't really follow the rules for transfers on Find A Grave and would much rather see someone who knew the person maintain the memorial.
If you are sending information to me to add to a listing I am more than happy to add anything you want. Same rules apply as before that I will update the listing as fast as possible but no later than 1 week.
If anyone has pictures of some of the stones I have posted please feel free to add them as this would be an amazing help. If you want to add family pictures do that also. The only thing I ask is that midi files be kept to the comments area if you want to leave that.
Any of the grave pictures I've taken and added are free for you to take and use.
If you are requesting I take the picture please let me know if you have a general idea where the person is buried if it is in a large cemetery. If you don't that is ok too, I can get the info if I need to.
I hope to talk to other people out there about the fascinating worlds of history and genealogy.

Should I contact the high school and have them correct his death date?
|Judy Eanes||RE: Frank Rice|
I posted my version of the photo but yours was much cleaner. Here's the link. If you post yours, I'll take mine down. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Rice&GSfn=Frank&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSst=17&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=58745358&df=all&

That is the correct high school for my Frank Rice but the wrong Frank Rice grave. I finally found his grave in Oak Hill cemetery in Crawfordsville, IN. He and his wife moved to Florida prior to their deaths. When they died, a niece brought the bodies back to her area. If you need the documentation, I can forward it. I have the obituary, etc. It took quite a bit of digging (plus knowledge of the family members' names).

Help! I'm looking at the photo attached to grave memorial #49488508, Frank R Rice, and it is definitely my distant cousin, Frank M Rice (I have that exact photograph) but then when I look at the obituary indexes for my guy (who is the son of Frank Rice & Catherine Jennings of Summit Co, OH), I see my guy dying in Palm Beach FL on 1/8/1994. This guy died in 1977. Do you know where your copy of the photo came from? Am I reading the records incorrectly? If it helps, my photo is in a cardboard frame that looks like it has a high school emblem on it and is marked HNS 1925 or 1929 (can't make out the stylized number).

Lisa, in the photo you have posted on James Hiriam Knight's memorial, I know the man on the right is my great grandfather George, but on back of my photo it just has "his brother and his wife". Are you related to James Hiriam? which one of his wives is in the photo? are you sure this is James? could be Jack or Joseph?
|Bradley & Necy Kelly Bennett||RE: Marie Kelly Prilep|
Thank you so much for letting me know about the memorials you made for Marie and Martin Prilep. I have been looking for info on where they were buried for quite a while. Marie is my 1st cousin 2X removed through the Kelly family. Her full name was Johnnie Marie Kelly at birth. I knew she passed away in Daytona but could not locate which cemetery. I know that Martin Prilep was born at Seymour, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, USA and died at Stone Mountain, Dekalb County, Georgia, USA. He was baptized in the Lutheran church in Seymour. His father was Charles F. "Carl" Prilepp and his mother was Ida Karrow or Harrow. Martin had an older brother named Robert according to 1920 census at Seymour,Outagamie County, Wisconsin. I have found Robert on Find A Grave (memorial # 98958353), his last name spelled Prilepp with an extra "P". He is buried at the same church Martin was baptized at. I have not found Martin and Robert's parents' memorials, however. Martin and Marie were married 29 Sep 1976 in Volusia County,Florida. Her first husband, Leonard Ring died in 1963. I will send you link information for Marie's mother, father and first husband and census, baptism record for Martin through the edit link on their memorials. I find no memorials for Martin's parents.I don't mind if you keep the memorials, I will be happy just to have the family links on them. If I find out more about the Prilep family, I will be sure to pass on to you. Thank you again for doing the memorials and letting me know. Another piece of the puzzle solved, thanks to you! ~ Necy

Many thanks to you for finding Felix Lipiec's headstone and posting it to Find A Grave. I appreciate your passion for hunting for headstones in cemeteries. I have done this search many times for others and know how daunting if can be.
Appreciate your hard work, Gail

Hi Lisa, I'm curious where you acquired the pictures of Michael David Barton and Michelle Elizabeth Barton. I'm doing a project on the Mark Barton family tragedy, and haven't had much luck with pictures of the family. I would appreciate any information you have.
