Bio and Links
Bio Photo I find copying headstones interesting, I like finding interesting people with interesting story's. Most my family buried in the greater Philadelphia area but I live in the Harrisburg area so I'll copy headstones here. Worked inside most my life and wanted to be outside after I retired so copied headstones and published them in the Quarterly once issued by the Capital Area Genealogical Society.

Please use 'edit' tab on memorial page for corrections and or additional information.
I now strictly adhere to the Find A Grave guidelines regarding transfers. No exceptions. Requests made that fall outside of the guidelines, or do not state relationship, are no longer being acknowledged. Virtual cemeteries are the way to "gather" your ancestors together.

Please don't justify an out-of-guideline transfer request for the sake of adding links and/or other information. Am perfectly capable of doing this, especially now with the new EDIT system - much quicker than transferring. If you decide to not forward information or links because a transfer isn't done, then that's your decision.

Joseph L Gaul
Hello! I am Joseph's 3rd Great granddaughter through his son Edward R. Gaul. I have quite a bit of information I've found on him and their family and its all kept on Ancestry.com. Are you on that website and could I send it to you through there?

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 85406480
Hello Robert,
Since I am an "ex" of this family, I am reluctant to provide too much info. Let me know what you are looking for and perhaps I can direct the inquiry to another relative?
Thanks

Grave Memorial #112120883
I'm not surprised Rebecca Hassler's son death certificate shows her maiden name as STOVER, I have found both spellings in the records but predominately within the family it was STOBER. Her own death certificate shows STOBER as did the bible record in her father's own hand. Thank you for the notification.

Hello Robert,
I can't remember why Chris transferred the maintenance to me? However I am a former family member (by marriage).

Mr. Fink
I believe most of William Fink's children are buried in the same cemetery as he and his wife are. Having the obit, I could find his kids and they are in the same Section and Lot and Graves 1 - 5. Pretty cool these obits are. Linda

I found a human error. Viola Spidel is listed as Oscars parent rather then wife.

William Coleman Pratt
Robert,
Here is the bio for William Coleman Pratt, who was my father-in-law and lays at rest in Fairview Cemetery in Williamstown, PA.

Thanks

Jan. 18, 1912 - 2004

A private family memorial service will be held for William (Coleman) Pratt, M.D. at All Souls Unitarian Church.

Dr. Pratt was born in Sallisaw on Jan. 18, 1912, to Ella Coleman Pratt and John Howard Pratt. Upon his graduation from Central High School in Muskogee in 1929, he was awarded a scholarship to Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., where he received his bachelor's degree in 1933. There he was the house manager for and a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was a swimming and life saving instructor at the Muskogee YMCA for one year prior to entering medical school at Washington University, graduating in 1938. During his internship at Geisinger Memorial Hospital in Danville, Pa., he met his wife, Elva, who was a nursing student. They were married on Feb. 14, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Following his first year of surgical residency at Geisinger, he volunteered for service in the U.S. Army, serving for five years during World War II. He was stationed at Fort Des Moines, Iowa, Camp Leonardwood, Mo., Carlisle Barracks, Pa., Randolph Field, Texas and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. His service included 1 1/2 years with the 5th Auxiliary Surgical Group in the European Theater of Operations. He was awarded three battle stars and the Bronze Star for his service.

Following his military service, he continued his training in Rochester, Minn., where he was a Fellow at the Mayo Clinic, completing a 3 1/2 year residency program and earning a master's of science in surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1948.

Dr. Pratt's many accomplishments include: membership in the Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research in 1949, Fellow in the American College of Surgeons in 1954, Fellow of the Southwestern Surgical Congress in 1956, American Board of Surgery in 1970, member of the Tulsa County Medical Society and a life member of the American Medical Association. He was an Associate at Children's Medical Center in Tulsa, when it was known as Sunnyside, served as chief of staff at St. Francis Hospital for one year, and was a staff member at St. John's Hospital, Hillcrest and St. Francis. He practiced surgery at Springer Clinic for 20 years.

He dedicated his life to surgery and the pursuit of knowledge and service to his patients. He had a deep appreciation of the fine arts, and the beauty and wonders of nature. He was an avid reader, an accomplished artist and proud of his Cherokee heritage.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elva Pratt of the home; six children, Lorraine Pratt of Houston, William Pratt Jr. of Tulsa, Dr. John Pratt and his wife Sharon of Denver, Nancy Slater and her husband John of Albuquerque, N.M., Betsy Long and her husband Lyn of Tulsa and Thomas Pratt M.D. and his wife Marsha of Edmond; 10 grandchildren, William Shockley of Los Angeles, Bart Shockley and Bryce Shockley both of Houston, Kerri Snyder of Charlotte, N.C., William Pratt III of Tulsa, Matthew Slater of Seattle, Wash., Nicole Slater of Albuquerque and Eric, Sarah and Laura Pratt of Edmond; four great-grandchildren, Cooper, Hayden and Carson Shockey and Ashton Shockley, all of Houston.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Wood Pratt; and his parents.

Thank you for letting me know about the situation at this cemetery; a sad situation. I have put a note on the memorial so that no one else will request a photo of the stone.
