We absolutely appreciate the hard work some people do in transcribing cemetery info and photographing markers and are then gracious enough to share that work with others.

We don't have a lot of entries on Find a Grave, and we are not able to walk the cemeteries anymore, but we strive to get all the information we can on each one that we enter.
Most of our memorials are to honor beloved family members and friends.
If you find mistakes in our memorials, we will be glad to change it in most cases, and if they are your family member and you are a closer relation than we are, We will gladly transfer them to you if asked to do so.

May God Bless each and every one of you that are helping preserve the memories.

"A person is not really gone if they are remembered, they are only gone when we forget them."

Abi Eiland Hitchcock King
The source of my information concerning Abi is from a family Bible that Matthew Hall Hitchcock kept. My information was transcribed from his Bible. I have been to the cemetery, however, I did not find a marker for either her or her first husband. However, it is a very old cemetery and there are a lot of unmarked graves. By the way the other side of my family has Efurds in it.

RE: Re: Lucy Efurd
You are more than welcome.

Unless "you" / "i" am related to someone, what is the point of collecting memorials? I help add cemeteries, and often get memorials from other members who have either stopped being contributors or have passed away. It isn't a number game for me - unlike others. There is no prize for having the most memorials, at least not to my knowledge!

Enjoy your 4th Great Grand - and make her memorial "come to life" with all the nuggets of info / photos etc for our heirs to find on their ancestral journey!

Happy Summer!

Mary Polly Johnson Efurd
I believe that Mary Polly Johnson Efurd may have been the mother of my great-great grandmother, Martha Glenn who was married to John Thomas Olin Glenn in Barbour Co., Alabama and came first to Cheneyville, Louisiana and then to Texas. She is listed with the Glenns in the 1880 census as Mrs. Glenn's mother with the name Mary Johnson but ancestry records show her as a widow at that time. Do you have any further information that might confirm this for me?

RE: Cemetery photo's
I did not get any cemetery photos when I was down there, sorry. I plan to go back there before winter, so I'll see what I can do. The section where the Van De Werkens are buried is one of the sections that I chose to photograph. There are 100's of open photo requests for this cemetery, so I took around 2000 pictures during my vacation in the hopes that I would get some of the requested markers.
