...............Of Historical Note...............

*CAPTAIN MERIWETHER LEWIS(first cousins herein) of the LEWIS AND CLARK EXPEDITIONS is a maternal MERIWETHER lineage descendant.
Most, if not all, American MERIWETHERS are direct descendants(including Meriwether Lewis) of Nicholas Meriwether I(1631-1678) of the JAMESTOWN, VA colony, c1652.

Additionally, by virtue of the Lewis & Meriwether unions, the George Washingtion, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Zachary Taylor and Jefferson Davis families are also related.

*Go HERE for detailed synopsi of above.

*Of Wiltshire "CHANDLER Subgroup 7b" Descendants(dating back to 1252 Wiltshire, England in region of Stonehenge; ie., of English immigrants "GEORGE & JANE CHANDLER" of Delaware, c1687.

Much appreciation is given to websites such as Find-A-Grave, related family societies and contributors that have provided the opportunity to discover our ancestors like never before...and occasionally to our own amazement.

Jean Willes suggestion re famous status
To be honest, I've stopped trying to submit them for "Famous" status. I get rejected 19 out of 20 times. Another contributor has had success in writing my famous bio's of late. I gave her the link to them. This is one she must have overlooked because I too think she would be an automatic qualification. If you have the knack or connections with Find A Grave - be my guest. Thank you for your kind assistance. Sincerely - Doug Sorensen

Hi. I linked the parents to this memorial. Do you know the actual birth and death dates? There is only one date on the stone. Thanks. Kim

Zarelda Ingram
You asked me several months ago to add Zarelda as a sister to Frances. I looked at several records and couldn't find them on the same census.

I found a Zarelda, dau. of Samuel & Elizabeth in Kentucky but her sisters were Purlilkia & Zenovia?

Please tell me where you found your information and I will look again.

StL Calvary FYI

I am assuming you know about the
St Louis Archdiocese Searchable database

and the Mo Online Death Cert.

They might help you out.

RE: Joseph M. Skeffington # 103399584
I think the name might be Patrick Skeffington??
age 25 or 65?? born the 28th 1875, possibly Aug.?? does any of that fit into your family??
I did add Ann Skeffington who died Sept. 16,1876 age 36 or 38 best guess on all of it.
I will keep checking the tombstone for different lighting to maybe get a better pic. I am in the section behind that right now and will be there the rest of the week, and then will start that section after I get finished.

RE: Meriwether
Alas, the leather version was a special one-time pre-publication deal and is no longer available. I have one of each though and its hard to tell the difference, as the standard version is very high quality.

I'm the Genealogist for The Meriwether Society, so if you send me your lineage to Nicholas I can tell you what family group you belong to and how we are related.

Ah... Never mind, RCS, we've already been in contact! You need to join the Society!

Nicholas Meriwether
As a descendant of Nicholas Meriwether, you might be interested in getting a copy of the new book that explores his life in Virginia in great detail: "The Meriwether Family in America, Volume I: The Colonists"
