Matthew Jenkins . . .
Born in Trenton, Michigan to Essie Belle Jenkins (Franklin) and Herbert Franklin Jenkins. First lived at 2440 Bassett Street - Fisher Temporary Housing Projects in Detroit. Countless hours at Detroit Boys Club with best buddy Michael Lee Hurst. My Dad Herbert Franklin Jenkins died April 16th, 1962 - 58 years of age. My precious mother Essie Jenkins went to Heaven on March 24th, 1992. Had a great little dog named Blackie.
Attended Logan Elementary school Detroit, Michigan. My sister Shirl took me to my first day of school. Received Jesus as my Lord and Savior at age 11 at Temple Baptist Church on Grand River Avenue in Detroit. Was Baptized by Dr. G.B. Vick - my Pastor. Graduated Fordson High School Dearborn, Michigan 1969. U.S. Army 1969-1976. Military Police Vietnam combat 1970-1971. Operation LAMSON 719 Laos. Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Expert M-16 Rifle, Expert 45 Caliber Pistol, Presidential Unit Citation. Vietnam forever changed me! I was a Sergeant - Fort Myer, Virginia, Arlington National Cemetery 1973-1976. Married the true love of my life Adelle Marie Costa - Sunday, May 20th, 1984 Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan. One fantastic son Matthew Franklin Jenkins - born in 1989. Taught by Grand Master BC Yu in Ann Arbor Michigan - Was awarded my Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do by Grand Master Yu. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Tyndale College with a Bachelors Degree. I researched, applied for and was granted a United States Patent #6295658 in 2001.
