Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started research into my family history over 50 years ago, as part of an 7th grade project; the itch to find out has never left me. I welcome the speed and spread of the internet -- before that it was a matter of making guesses, writing letters to overworked (and possibly annoyed) county clerks or historical societies and hoping to get a positive reply back.

Though I was born in Chicago, I come from a Minnesota family and feel my closest ties to that state.

My lines are: Smith (and what a difficult search that has been!), Ekman (Sweden), Shaleen (Sweden), Wallmark (Sweden), Kuhnau (Germany),Thiele (Germany), Phelan (Ireland). In addition I've done my husband's family links in England where I now live: Kirby, Wood, Coates.

Emil Kuhnau
My husband is a descendant of Carl Robert Kuhnau (1842-1898)of Minnesota. His wife is Alvine Schumann (1849-1915). Both originated in Prussia. I wonder if your ancestor Emil is connected to Carl as a younger brother or cousin. We have not established a family they are connected to Germany yet.

RE: Mary Tryon Smith w/o Daniel Smith
Sorry it doesn't. But you could try the genealogy department at the Wayne County Library in Wooster, Ohio. They have a wed site and the ladies there are very helpful.

RE: Mary Tryon Smith w/o Daniel Smith
Hi Laurie, In the book "Seventy-Five Years of Wayne County Marriages 1813-1888" had Daniel Smith and Mary Tryon married on 4-6-1820 in Chippewa Twp.

Re: Mary Warner
Thanks for the tip. It now turns out that the Beersheba Cemetery and the Lock 17 Cemetery is one and the same place. I'll see what I can do about transferring the info.

Anna Angel
Laurie,

I made the additions that you requested on the Facklers. However, on Anna Angel you may have the wrong one. You sent me the following:

Anna F. Angel's birth name was Anna Mary Fackler. She was born Jan 7, 1910 in York Twp., Tuscarawas Co. Her parents were Harry L. Fackler 106642213 and Emma Laura (Kinsey) Fackler 106642214. She was their only child.

The tombstone for Anna Angel http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=80978156 has a date of birth of 1864. And I have her linked to her spouse born in 1862.

The death date on the stone in the picture I have is May 25, 1855, AE 35; same as on the memorial. I was about to post when I saw someone else claimed. Best regards,
Terry
