Bio and Links
Bio Photo With much of my immediate family growing in and around the Washington D.C area for generations, I was never overly curious about family history. After a friend who was more interested than I found photos of relatives gravesites in other states who were born during the time of Andrew Jackson I was amazed. Even a marker for my grandmother's unnamed infant son which I had seen in home movies had been photographed by someone.
I am most familiar with DC area's, Holy Rood, Arlington Cemetery, Oak Hill and Cedar Hill Cemetery on Pennsylvania Avenue. I have taken many photos for my own enjoyment and for friends over the years, but realize others are often not so near.

Walsh family
Randy,

Thank you for responding to my request for information. Our family has been involved for a long time in genealogical research. My brother wondered from where in Ireland your people came. That is, which county. Is there any other information you could share such as names of people on your family tree? Just wondering how far back we may be related! Anything you wish to share is appreciated. Good to know that others are keeping tabs on the past!

Hello!

After locating our grandfather's grave site online, I noticed that your name is at the bottom as a contributor to the information. My maiden name is Walsh, and there are many of us Walshes in the D.C. metro area. If you are a relative, we would be interested in knowing where you fit on the family tree. When you get a chance, maybe you could respond to this email and we can share ancestral backgrounds. Look forward to hearing from you.

RE: 3 Connell Daughters
Dear Randy. Thank you for your picture and interest in the 3 little Connell girls. My family has not lived in DC since 1987. There are 3 generations of Connell's in that spot but on my visit 2 years ago I was upset to find all of the 7 other markers gone. The little girls were buried in the shade of a huge tree and your picture shows them out in the open. Has the tree been cut down? I was so upset with the cemetery about the other markers but they do not have perpetual care, which I find amazing, and no one had been there to notice the loss of the other stones. Right now the cost of a plaque just saying the Connell Family is beyond my reach. The girls memorial is precious. I do have the poem and each child's obituary. I need to look at it again to see if it can be added for all 3 girls. Thank you so much for your interest.

Thank you Carolyn
