Bio and Links
Bio Photo My goal is to provide accurate, complete memorials for those who can no longer speak for themselves and for their families to learn their history. Not only is this a passion of mine it is a lifelong commitment. It is rare a day goes by that I am not working on someone's Genealogy, sometimes it is even mine. My main surnames are Sherman, all the way back to Philip the Immigrant and Gen William Tecumseh Sherman, Greer, Martello, Dunn, Daniels, Wentworth, Carpenter, Schneider, Ingraham and of course Gillette.

If you want a memorial edited, or transferred please do it through the edit button of the memorial not here and include your Find A Grave # with your transfer requests. Please note there is limit of 20 requests you can send to one person in a week set by Find A Grave, please stay within those boundaries.

If I cannot contact you then don't ask me to do anything for you. Either have your messages enabled or an e-mail available, no exceptions. It is so frustrating when I have a question about an edit and I can't contact the person who sent it.

Please don't contact me and tell me I can't post obits because someone has said they have a copyright, they don't. When I post an obit I name the paper and I put it in quotes, unless it is one I wrote. I also don't include living people unless they are my family.

Please note I have had thousands of memorials transferred to me from the hands of volunteers who are inactive. I am slowly going through them and researching their life and updating their memorials as time permits, please be patient. If you find one and they are related I would be more than happy to pass them along to family.

Baby Tomsky Memorial
Dear Eileen,

I have some information for your Baby Tomsky memorial (#126990426). The San Francisco Call of 23 July 1891 reads under "Born," "TOMSKY -- In this city, July 20, 1891, to the wife of William Tomsky, a daughter," and under "Died," "TOMSKY -- In this city, July 20, infant daughter of William and Teresa Tomsky."

Do you know if she has a stone? As a Tomsky myself, I thought I had caught all of them, but somehow I missed her.

Thank You,
Eric Thomsen

Re: Duplicate memorial
Thank you for your concern. It means a great deal. In all honesty, I don't want her memorial merged with mine, I want her page deleted. I don't want her name on my husband's memorial as the creator. I feel that she has disrespected my husband's memory. I don't know who she is or why she posted the memorial. She obviously doesn't take any responsibility for managing any of her memorials, when she doesn't make corrections or transfers. She was 10 years off on my husband's birth year. I notified her of that and if you go to her member page, you will see that another member sent the same correction for his birth 4 years ago and still it remains. The other message on her page is 2 years old and apparently her son finally responded to it a year after it was posted. He told the guy to contact him and that he could also help him get in touch with his mother. That sounds to me like she is not an active member.

Re: Duplicate memorial
I am well aware that my memorial is a duplicate. The person that posted the original has never responded to my messages. The memorial is for my husband, so I have no intention of deleting mine. She doesn't even have the correct year of his birth. I asked for a transfer more than once and got no response. I have sent her corrections and additional info on some of her other memorials and she didn't do anything with those memorials either.

RE: Samuel Sherman 63548762
There is a military record that was found in a family Bible showing him serve in the military in 1873 which would be the after civil war reconstruction time. His son John was born in New York. My Samuel is shown on his sons record as born in England. I found a record of Samuel enlisting in 1865. John J. Sherman ended up in San Francisco and his daughter Marie (Mazie) Elizabeth Sherman was born in 1900. She is my grandmother. This is the mystery that I am trying to solve. I tried to copy and paste the military record and it will not let me paste to here. It shows Sergeant Samuel Sherman Oct. 31, 1873 serving in N. Carolina. Company I 2 Artillery. I think that my Samuel is NOT anyone famous. Special orders 215 on the top of the paper and later it says Special Orders 112. This is my mystery. Thank you and God Bless you.

RE: Harry Thorson
Thanks but it's OK. He is in our tree but distant (married to a 2nd cousin 2x removed) so much better that he stays with you. Good luck and maybe someday you'll find the information you need to clear up the mystery. :)
