Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK, where my husband jokingly says that I thought Noah's Ark had landed.

For thirty plus years I have been involved in genealogy. When my mother died, she left some notes about a few ancestors she had uncovered and hoped I would continue her research. That was the hook-in-the-jaw that changed my life. I only regret that I have missed out on so many years that I could have used. Alas, all those family stories that went in one ear and out the other, and all those family members who took so much information to the grave with them.

I am, however, thankful for the tools that are now available and for FindAGrave, a platform that I have spent many hours gaining from and contributing to.

If I have created a memorial for a member your family, who isn't related to me, and YOU CAN ADD INFORMATION TO THEIR BIO (not just family links), I will be glad to transfer it to you. However, many have received a transfer/transfers & have never added anything. This isn't fair to kin who may come along later who can do so.

An exception to the above are my Bell, Dodson, & Love ancestors and kin, most of whom have numerous descendants. Much of the information contained in their memorials is the result of many years of tedious research, and as new information comes to light, I would like to be able to make those changes. For these memorials please follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers.

Instructions for ALL REQUESTS for corrections, additional information, or transfers:

1. Go to the memorial page, which has an "Edit" tab located on the upper right side of the memorial.
2. Click on the "Edit" tab, then click on the Suggest a correction or provide additional information link, which opens a message page.
3. Type in your message.

Making a request this way insures that no mistakes are made, because it takes me to the exact memorial.

Thanks for your understanding.

RE: Thank You!

That's very kind of you, but I'm afraid that I would not do as good a job as you have done, or are doing. At the same time, I can tell you that I have researched out more information on James Henry Light, my grandfather that I'd be very willing to share with you, if you are interested. I'm not sure how much of it would be worthwhile putting on the memorial, but I would respect your judgment to make that decision.

Let me know.

Oh, one other thing. If you knew Papa Light (James Henry Light), or any of his children, you would know that they were all told by him that we were of American Indian heritage. Many of them believed him, and took that folk genealogy with them to the grave. It's not true.

Thank You!
I too have been doing genealogy for a long time, and I've only recently (last few years) done extensive research using Findagrave as a significant tool. For some reason, today I decided to look at Find A Grave for my close ancestors - I have been primarily working in other areas with distant cousins. Imagine my surprise to find my own name mentioned as a contributor for this memorial for my great grandfather. Thank you so much for the wonderful work you are doing.

James and Caroline
Hi there, is there a way to purchase the book you've written on James and Caroline Bell? My husband is related and I'm putting together a family book for his grandfather. I think it would be a lovely addition. Thank you.
