My name is Vickie. I grew up in Swannanoa, N.C. and now I live in Asheville. I enjoy researching family history and walking through cemeteries to read stones. Everyone deserves to be remembered. Someone somewhere loved them. Thanks to the great contributors here at Find a Grave, I have been able to see the graves of many family members that I would have never seen if it wasn't for their generosity. It is so nice to be able to visit a loved one's grave and not even leave the house.|
If any of my memorials contain errors, or if you have information to add, please send me a message or an edit. All memorials are done with the utmost respect of those who have passed on and those of us left behind.

When my soul is restless
And things seem out of line,
I visit an old graveyard
To take a mystical step back in time.
I find the oldest tombstones
Then read the messages there;
I consider what their days had been
And how our lives in ways compare.
We all have lived though heartaches
As well as episodes of fun;
Surviving loss of loved ones,
And rewarded for a job well done.
Sometimes if I'm very still
I can hear what they have to say
And feel them reaching out to me
Grateful for my momentary stay.

|Leslie W.||William Ferdinand Brown|
Hi, Vickie! Sorry about that previous message that just says "W" ...I'm not able to delete it. I saw that a memorial you created for William Ferdinand Brown lists Franklin Brown as his father, that same man who is my great-great-grandfather. I have no record of a William Ferdinand Brown being a child of Franklin Johnson Brown(or "John Frank Brown" as I've also seen) and Margaret Lambeth. Just wondering what source you have that would show that it's the same person. Hope to hear from you soon!
|Marie Annette Livengood Neely||MORTON FAMILY|
In the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery you have three Morton family members listed. Two of them I do have a bit of info on as the one named Willie Morton Is actually Mary Willie Livengood Morton the wife of Harold James Morton. Her # is 134056867 and his is 134056836. If you don't mind could you join their numbers and her parents #s which are 59412060 (William Oscar Livengood) and 59412276 (Bertha C Link Livengood) both also buried in Liberty United Methodist. Thank you so much for posting the Morton's. I had been looking for Mary Willie Livengood for a long time and just so happened to run across a marriage record that led me to your post for the cemetery.

Thank you so much for sending me the update on Edith Grant Walls. I moved her to the proper cemetery with the rest of her family. I also wanted to thank you for being so kind in how you gave me the information. Most of the time, we volunteers are treated very rudely, so I wanted to give you special thanks for that. Have a great day.
|Walter Dunn||John Witherspoon.|
Thanks for the corrections.
Thanks for letting me know about the duplicate. The earlier memorial, as does that of her husband, reads "Burris" and therefore I did not see it. "Burris" seems to be a misspelling since all other links, gravestone photos and ancestry.com records, including her N.C. death record, filled out by her daughter Ruth, carry the spelling BURRUS.

Thank you for moving her. I agree and will ask in cemetery edits for the name to be added as an aka.. It is openly discussed on the forum so I am not sure why no one ever did that, but that is neither here nor there, I am always glad to help when I'm able. Have a great Thanksgiving!
