Bio Photo A 'family historian' for 30+ years I only recently began taking cemetery photographs as time became available...I'm more than happy to fill requests, including those for 2 areas we visit several times each year: Clarksville, TN and Decatur, Illinois. My deepest thanks to all of the incredible volunteers at Find-A-Grave who have advanced my genealogy research tremendously, but even more important, have touched my heart with their many kindnesses and personal letters. You make this site a great one, and I salute you all!

Re: James E. in Oakwood Cemetery
Hi cousin,
Regarding your question about James E. possibly being buried in Oakwood by the large family named monument, I do not know the answer to that. The cemetery listing I have Oakwood does not contain his name. The only way to be sure might be to contact the person who posted that picture. Potentially they are in the area and could go check out the actual site.
Sorry I could not help more.

RE: Isaac H. Terhune
Wow! Isaac was a brother to my Great Grandfather, William Barnett Terhune (he lived in Rush County). That's really amazing -- we are related!

I'll be glad to share any of my Terhune info with you. My email is williams.seeker@gmail.com. So glad you told me about Isaac!

City: Decatur
Age: 77 yrs.
Sex: M

Geral Irby -Salem Cemetery
I believe the Geral (Taylor) Irby (b. 18 Sept 1854 d. 26 Feb 1885) buried in the Salem Cemetery to be the son of Nathaniel P Irby and Mary Waller Irby. His grandfather, Geral Irby (b. 20 April 1784 d. 30 Oct 1836) was married to Martha Woodfin Irby. Martha Woodfin Irby is buried in the Salem Cemetery but I have Geral's death in Giles County TN.

Geral and Martha are my 4 greats grandparents, Nathaniel P Irby and Mary Waller Irby are my 3 greats grandparents.

Haydon Wells
Thank you so much for your contribution on Haydon Wells! He is my 4 x great grandfather and I found your bio to be very informative. My lineage is through his son Archelaus whose spouse I have been unable to find. I am also a contributor to Find A Grave and see that I have much work to do regarding my bios. If you have, or find, more info regarding the Wells I would appreciate it if you would share or guide me to a source. Thanks again for you dedication.

RE: Charles P. Terhune
Hi, I am so sorry! Greenwood is a very large cemetery and hard to walk. I will go again and see if I can find the correct one. I had gone to the sexton office to find the block and that is the way I found this one. Their records are a mess!
I asked if there was a stone and they didn't know that either.
