I have been working on genealogy for about 25 years. I just found out about Find A Grave a few months ago. What a handy tool this is. I enjoy going around to different cemeteries looking at all the old headstones, and taking pictures for people who might not every see the headstonesof there ancestors if someone didn't take pictures for them.|
If anyone finds an error, please let me know and I will correct it. Also anyone who would like to add something, I can also do that for you.
For over 15 years I have been seriously researching my Gibbons family, with a beginning origin in South Carolina (Joseph Franklin Gibbons 1839 and still searching for information prior to that), also researching the Paris family (Rhoda Catherine Paris) from Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Giles families from that area.
From there the search has taken me into Harlan and Bell Counties in Kentucky, and surrounding counties in VA & TN, later on to Rockcastle and Lincoln Counties in KY also. In KY families that connect with our Gibbons are: Fee's, Green, Burkhart, Hensley, Wynn, Wilson and more.
My grandfather Andrew Jackson Gibbons was born in SC, was raised and married Margaret Fee in Harlan County KY. They raised their family in Lee Co. VA. Andrew Jackson Gibbons brothers are, James Giles, John Giles, Spurgeon Gibbons, Willie Gibbons, Campbell Gibbons, Frank Gibbons II and Nathan Gibbons. No known sisters.
If anyone has information of any of these families I would be very appreciative of anything you are willing to share.
I am also working on a register for Rose Hill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas.

Was wondering as to where you came up with the BORN DATE you have listed for John Lutz.
You state that there are no grave stones for neither John Lutz, and none for his wife Christina Lutz.
Both of these grave sights do have crude made concrete headstones.
They where both buried several inchs deep and grown over with grass.
I located both headstones by probing the ground at the grave sights.
I have photoed the headstones and there now both shown on there memorials. Ronald

Hello Vernon, I was just going to "visit" my friend Craig when I noticed that he has duplicate memorials! (you made both of them) I left flowers at the first one you made and added a picture. The second one is #146587686 if you would like to delete it. Thanks for starting a memorial for Craig, he was truly one of a kind, such a big heart and always happy! -Caroline

We would like to get David Paul Hunt transferred to family if possible. He has an enormous amount of ancestors we need to blend together.
He is a cousin.

"Thank you" for all the work you do as a Find-A-Grave contributor.
I'm from the Harts, Lincoln/Logan/Wayne Co., WV, area. The address is Harts, WV, but covers areas in Lincoln Co.,WV, (where the post office is located) and adjoining areas which are in Logan Co., WV, and Wayne Co., WV).
As for the cemetery locations - Wellll, that can get complicated!! A death certificate/obituary will show the cemetery name but not always show the COUNTY location! .. and that's part of the COMPLICATION! We have many small family cemeteries located on the hillside and/or ridges of Lincoln/Wayne/Logan Counties and, if one doesn't know the exact location of WHICH hillside/ridge, it's easy to post to the wrong cemetery.
As I know many of the Workman family members in the Harts, Lincoln/Wayne/Logan Counties, WV, area, I'm familiar with the location of many of the cemeteries, especially the older ones.
As for Linda's memorial, I think it should probably be posted to the
Workman Family Cemetery at Mouth of Spring Branch, Harts, WV, (this is the way it is listed on Find A Grave). This Cemetery is located on what we know as BIG Harts Creek, Lincoln/Logan County, WV, area and is the location of Linda's father-in-law's grave-site.
I'll be going to the Queen's Ridge Cemetery in 2 to 3 weeks and, on the way, will be passing the small, very old Workman Cemetery (located on a road leading off the LITTLE Harts Creek road, the Cemetery being located near the Lincoln/Wayne County line) to which you currently have her memorial posted and will stop and check all the names.
If my note has offended you in any way, my sincere apology .. along with 3 or 4 other contributors from this area, who are also familiar with these areas, we try to help other who are less familiar with the area and cemetery locations.
Again, my sincere appreciation for all you do as a contributor .. Della

Dear Mr. Gibbons, Thank you for your speedy memorial but I am saddened to know Mr. Dunbar has passed away. He did his YDNA test and my male Dunbar matched to him today. My daughter lives in Seward and works in Lincoln, NE and I was going to try and visit him when I come to Seward in two weeks. We would be 4th cousins but his test has given my Dunbar genealogy a big boost. Martha Dunbar Reinhart
