" The best way for Americans to know themselves and their history is to walk among the quiet headstones of our graveyards. See the dates and realize how young they were. Read the inscriptions. Feel the cool marble. Imagine. You can know your family that way, but you can know what America is by placing yourself among the remains of the men and now women who died to make her and to defend her."

I do have a tree, but I do not have any connection yet except for DNA matches.
I have probably entered the information for the family on Wikitree already.
You can look on Ancestry, but the connection will not be there. My username is RUGGERSF. The tree i am in is CONFIRMED. The tree I am using to build DNA matches is DNAFAMILIES

DNA has linked me to Pleasant Howard and Abigail Wright. I was also linked to Elizabeth Lucinda Howard and Aaron Swafford.
I think it is interesting to note that Elizabeth Lucinda Howard's (1780-?) parents were Peter James Howard(1738-1819) and Sarah Ann Portman (1739-1781). As the Portman name is carried though your tree, I am guessing this is where it originated. I have not been able to find where I fit in this family, just that I have many DNA connections to it.

Brenda - HI! Long time.
Re your request "Philbert Wright, b. 1802, d. 1865; Requested by Brenda Howard, Feb 03, 2012
I may have found someone to take picture/s of Philbert's headstone, if it's still 'viewable'. Hoping within the next week or so.

No problem, and thank you for your kind words. If I can help you again, just let me know. I'm here for you.
|B.J. Waters||Rosa Woodruff|
Hi Brenda! I put some photos on Rosa's memorial but I noticed you already had a headstone photo. I added one of the area.
Have you been there recently? I wondered how you got a photo, and why you did a photo request? Did I miss something somewhere?
|B.J. Waters||Rose Atkinson, et al.|
Hi Brenda. I'll finish this project this evening. I got pretty busy at work in the last couple of days! I may have more questions regarding the photos. "Talk" to you later.
|B.J. Waters||RE: Rose Atkinson|
Brenda, I did already make memorials for the MacArthurs, and added photos to them. Looking forward to receiving more information.
You have not indicated your relationship to any of these persons. Ordinarily, when I work closely with someone to get photos, etc. I will transfer even if it is out of guidelines.
The original memorial for Rose Atkinson was one of 25,000 that I took over from Chris Mills when he had over 400,000 memorials and asked for help (so I volunteered to take all of his Inglewood memorials). In other words, Rose was not transferred to me because of relationship.
I will be happy to get a photo of Rosa Woodruff's marker, on my next visit.
