PHOTOS: Any photo I have posted on Find-a-Grave is intended to be used...please consider this your permission to copy and/or post any of my photos.|
When I fulfill a photo request, I do not simply take a photo of the request only. I research the surname (and often connected surnames) within that particular cemetery and photograph them all when I go. And I will never, ever take just one photo within a lot. If the lot has more than one grave, they ALL get photographed since they will all be connected in some way. This allows a person to see photos of their entire family units, plus allows me to edit and link them all together when adding the photos.
DUPLICATES: I try my best to do a thorough check before entering any memorials. I will never intentionally create a duplicate, although sometimes it just happens with the delay in the Find-a-Grave system at times. Even if my memorial was entered first, I will usually delete IF the other memorial is complete.
My interest is not in numbers but in the precious souls who walked among us on this earth. However, I would appreciate your using "the Golden Rule" when asking me to delete a memorial. Most people already do and don't have to be reminded. Just want you to know that I will never intentionally be rude to anyone.
CORRECTIONS: I'll be happy to make corrections on any of my entries if needed, or I will gladly transfer memorials to family members (at my discretion when it involves my kinfolks). I would appreciate your using the "Edit" function to request corrections.
ABOUT ME: I have lived in Sweetwater, Texas all but four years of my life. A genealogy nut, I love to help people find their family information through this volunteer work.
FIND-A-GRAVE: I am the Find-A-Grave coordinator for the Nolan County Cemeteries. The Sweetwater Cemetery is my favorite (my daughter, father & grandparents are buried there).

Always interested in hearing from anyone with any connections to my families.

* Sweetwater (Nolan County, TX)
* Old Bethel (Anderson County, TX)
* Frankston City (Anderson County, TX)
* Roby (Fisher County, TX)

THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
By Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Virginia Choate||Harold Hope|
May I offer additional information for Harold W. Hope?
His oldest sister (my mother), Mary Luella Hope Fine, and youngest sister, Belva Hope Crumbie. Both are deceased. Mary Luella died in Hobbs New Mexico in 2000.
His aunt was Hazel Hope Outlaw, she was the widow of George Outlaw who died in 1949, I believe. Hazel lived in Sweetwater on Arkansas St. and is buried in the Sweetwater cemetery. Bland Hope was his uncle and lived in Fisher County north of Sweetwater.
My name is Virginia Bryan Fine Choate, and I currently live in Denton, Texas. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
Wow!! That was fast! Thank you so much for transferring Lorene to me and updating her for me. You are great!

Thanks! You're an angel.
|robertsgr2015||Old farmers' Cemetery|
Need help again. How do I find out where the Old Farmer Cemetery on F-A-G is actually located. The creator of the site, Searchers of our Past, has their messages disabled.
The problem is, I have located an old cemetery that the locals refer to as the Old Farmer Cemetery because 7 of the 10 memorials in it are for Farmer family members. Their OFC only contains 2 memorials, and they are not in the one I found.
How do I create a cemetery record for this OFC, it actually has no name on it's gate, without creating a duplicate cemetery record?
Thanks so much for your prompt response!!! Yes, I'll be sure to let you know if I learn they are correct...Carol

Thank-you for your quick & courteous response to my transfer requests for the Henry & Nettie Fulghum memorials ... Your kindness is exceeded only by your professionalism in helping along your fellow genealogists .... I also appreciated you going beyond the call, and adding the blank info I did not have for Nettie .....
If I can reciprocate your kindness here from San Diego, please give me a holler ....
