RE: Elmer C. Coe Memorial # 65979975
Thank you, Ruth. Here is the obituary, from the Whidbey News-Times of May 29, 1991:
"Graveside services for Charles N. Coe, 66, of Coupeville, were May 29, 1991 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville, with Chaplain Philip Spain, Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, officiating. Full military honors were provided by the NAS Whidbey Honor Guard.
"Charles N. Coe died May 25, 1991, at Whidbey General Hospital in Coupeville. He was born May 13, 1925, in Stanford, (sic) Conn., to Elmer and Mary Elizabeth Coe. He was married to Marjorie Hickey Feb. 28, 1953, in Boston, Mass.
"He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and retired July 6, 1964. He was employed by Civil Service at the Groton, Conn., Submarine Base, where he retired in 1980. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Coupeville.
"Mr. Coe is survived by his wife Marjorie at the family home; one daughter, Charlene Joanne Coe of Langley; and one sister, Dorthy May Sandstrom of Tucson, Ariz. He was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Coe, Jr.
"Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Burley Funeral Chapel, Oak Harbor."
Furthermore, I have found this Coe family in the 1940 census:
Head: Anna R., 58
Son: Elmer, 38
Dau/law May, 34
G-son Norman, 14
G-son Elmer, 12
G-dau Dorothy, 3
This is obviously the right family and Norman's mother's name is May. And Groton is perhaps a dozen miles from Uncasville. Bingo. I'll make the link. Thanks so much for your help.

Elmer C. Coe Memorial # 65979975
Hi. I just finished a memorial for Charles N. Coe, #121223901. According to his obit he was born in Connecticut to Elmer and Mary Elizabeth Coe - close to what you have for Elmer. Since they had a son Charles Norman Coe, it seems that it would be safe to link the two. Can you confirm or should I let well enough alone?
