I was born and raised in Mobile, AL, graduated from Theodore High School, earned a BSME from Auburn University, moved to Choctaw Co, AL in 1981, married a local gal and am still here. Growing up in Mobile with it's coastal forts and Spanish Fort & Blakeley battlefields, it was understandable that I developed an interest in the Civil War. After the death of my father-in-law in 1997 we were going through some family papers and found that his grandfather was in the 40th Alabama Infantry Regiment. I started looking in the local cemeteries for him and really had a blast; so here I am 14 years later, a confirmed genealogy-aholic.|

Thanks for the great work you did in Bear Creek Cemetery in Choctaw County. Those are some old markers, but your photos really help to see the details. I appreciate the extra time you took to get these good photos. Lots of my Wright relatives in Choctaw County!

Please remove Dawn Witman as parent on this memorial, she was my niece and had no children, the dates also make it impossible. It shows up on her memorial, I have no way of removing the information, only you can do it.

David, I too grew up in Mobile Co. Went to Vigor(c/o
'65). Taught the last 25 years of my career at Murphy. Since i have retired four years ago, I have fallen in love with genealogy.
You are the manager of my grandparents grave site in West Bend Cemetery In Clarke Co., AL. They are Horace Lee Truitt (55223905) and Maggie Anderson Truitt (55223919).
My father William Horace Truett died in 2014; he was their only child. My brother and I are the only grandchildren.
I would love to be the manager of their sites so I could add family links. I would appreciate itif you would transfer the sites to me. My father had a twin that died at birth (site #33708786), and it was transfer to me.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

I am researching my mother's first cousin. The only thing I have on her is the following: Thelma Thompson, who married Rex Cook, died June 1992 in Pushtahama AL. She was originally in St Augustine, FL until her father died in 1939. Her mother remarried in 1941 to a Hankins and moved the family to Tuscaloosa. Needless to say my mother lost touch with this side of the family.
I believe this town is actually Pushmataha in Choctaw County, Alabama as I can't find a town with the spelling given to me....and I can understand how it could have easily been misspelled by someone not familiar with the area.
I saw that you made the Cook's memorials in Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery located in Pushmataha. So I am asking you about the situation or give me a lead on the subject.
You may reply on my profile page. Thanks
