When I was 5yrs old I lost my dad, and when I was 16yrs old I lost my mom. I didn't know alot about my family only what I remember my mom telling me, for I don't have alot of family left. When I was 18 I had a son and decided after he was born I needed to know more about my Family, so I went to the cemetery where my mom and dad are buried and asked questions. Before I knew it I had found 3 Uncles, 3 Aunt, my Grandfather, Great Grandparents along with several of their Children. I then went to the library for their were no computers and looked up their obits cause now I had dates of Death. In the obits I was able to find family names of, next of kin. It was very confusing for they seem to use names over and over. Now with the computer it has made it alot easier to do. And with sites like Find a Grave and Ancestry I have been able to see it all come together. Thank-you to all the volunteers for your time and effort in helping us locate our loved ones.|

Hi Carole... I wonder if you know of any children of Thomas Henderson & Sarah Halbert. Particularly one son, Hubert Jas. Henderson (April 22, 1915 - February 21, 1970). He was married twice... first - unknown... 2nd wife - Muriel G. Becksted, on May 16, 1953. Do you have any info on his first wife? Died, divorced? Appreciate your insight.

I am a 2nd cousin, twice removed of Colin E Richardson. His mother, Edith Huron Brookman, is my great grandaunt. Her father, Rev. William Brookman is my gg grandfather. I have updated info on William Brookman's ancestors and his descendants with his 1st wife, Elizabeth Jane Harvey.

|Richard Skidmore||Willis Spencer Sweet|
I am a nephew of Uncle Willis. I know some information about him that might help you. I have pictures of he and his wife from earlier years. I might even have a picture of you. I also have pictures of his other family members. I can tell you a lot about his immediate and his extended families.
I got quite excited when I saw this posting. I did not know much about Aunt Anita. I did not know they had a child. I hope you will see this and respond.
Your first cousin,
PS My mom was Dorothy Eva Katherine (Sweet) Skidmore. Your dad would have called her Dot. All of the Willis' immediate family has passed. There are three of the aunts (married to his brothers) still living, one with a sharp mind and two who have dementia.
|Shelley Joudrey||Question regarding Obituary|
I have just found this site while searching online and you seem to be a "go to person" for many people :)
I was adopted when I was a baby and I know who my biological mother is but I have never met her as of yet but I have found some other siblings and I know who my maternal grandmother was and I have a copy of her obituary. My question for you is this -- there is an obituary on the "Find a Grave" site for:
HARRISON, Harvey LeRoy - 73, UxBridge, Ont. died March 4 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Born in Springhill, he was a son of Charles and Hattie (Embree) Harrison. Burial was in Pinehill Cemetery, Sarborough, Ontario
I believe the above person was my grandfather - my mother's father. I see a woman's name was listed as his spouse who had passed away before him but I am pretty sure that it was his second wife as he was divorced from my maternal grandmother years ago and she was remarried as well. I know he was in the military in his younger days and I see that this obituary listed this man as a SPR (Sapper) in the army and, given what I know about the family so far, this appears to be him.
I wonder if there is any way to find out more information about him other than the very brief obituary sentence above which has been all I have been able to find?
Would appreciate your thoughts!
|TODD STONE||RE: Maerz Family|
Hi Carole i got your message today my wife & i walked the whole cemetery & took all of the headstones of the memorials . There was other graves that you could see but had no headstones on them . There were also some wooden crosses that were broken off laying on the ground that had no writing on them that was readable . If you know that they are buried in that cemetery you can add them but i can't help with the photo Sorry about that .

If you find that a marker is missing or there is a condition problem with the marker, would you let me know via an edit? Thanks, that way I can make a note on the memorial.
