RE: Dariel Hough memorial Hi Art, When people add photos to a page that was created off a cemetery interment list, very often they don't take the time to alert the page creator that there is more info on the stone that should be added to the page, or in this case, a correction in the name spelling. I very much appreciate every contributor sending the edits to make the pages as correct and complete as possible going forward, so thank you for your edit!
RE: Stewart & Sarah Armstrong Thanks for the clarification, Art. I had to click on the stone to get the message. Some one will probably contact me and tell me I'm off by a few years, then I'll direct them to your message.
A specific cemetery was not included with the obituary cited in the memorial.
More often than not, Clearview is the cemetery referred to in local obituaries of that time period when mentioning North Cohocton. However, since obituary details are often inaccurate, and at the time of the creation of the memorial there were no Armstrong nor Curtis burials at Clearview, which cautioned the placement of the memorial, it ended up in Maple View due to the presence of Armstrong family members. Also, I recall a necrology report for the entire year of 1885 that mentioned other burials at North Cohocton which are found in Maple View, some of which included tombstone images for additional verification.
I'm not related to the family nor have any connection. Perhaps you could ask the current manager of the memorial to add a notation to the bio addressing your concerns or ask to have the memorial returned to me for deletion or transferred to you.
Asher/Asahel Hinman I descend from Asher's twin brother, Asahel. I would appreciate it if you would share your information on your lineage. My passion is the females of the family as they have a tendency to get lost or forgotten about when our children no longer carry the Hinman name as I am sure you are well aware of. You can e-mail me directly if you like. email@example.com
Looking forward to your reply. Thanks, Zoellen Hinman Smith
