I was born and raised in West Virginia but have made ILlinois my home since 1967.|
I am currently researching my family tree on my mom's side need information on Lilly, Crawford, Burkes, Burks, Burk, Hornsby, or Horn from Virginia and West Virginia.
On my father side need information on McBride, Fink, Ferguson, Wood.
If i have added any ones relative and they would like to create their own memorial e-mail me and i will delete the record.
I think this is a great site to post burials and cremation, everyone should be remembered even if it is on FIND A GRAVE.
If you have time please stop by and visit my beautiful son Memorial he is the reason i started on this site, some days i cannot visit his grave . So i just log on here and read all the beautiful notes and tokens that have been left for him. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart it means so much to me to know their are such kind people out there
RONALD LEEDALE HARRIS
And a special Thank-You to Medora for sponsoring his site she truly is a angel.
Also stop and visit my mother's site

My Grandmother kept a scrapbook of obits and things of interest in the Newton County, Indiana and Iroquois County, Illinois area. As a young girl, she lived in Sheldon. I now have her scrapbook and ran across Ira's obit. He taught in Sheldon at the time my Grandmother was in school. She didn't record the newspaper that it came from though. Are you interested in adding it to Ira's Memorial? I would be glad to send it to you if you are interested.

I added these memorials after finding their names and locations from the local library. I am only familiar with one Fireco Cemetery. Please, where is the other one?

Hello I am Aldetta Wallace Akers. I am so sorry about the terrible death of your son. I have not lost any of my children. I can't imagine how had hard that could be. My father, James Wallace died of cancer during my 9th grade of school. I grew up in Fireco, WV. until my family moved away during the summer of 1964. We would often drive back to attend the Jonben Church of God. Some of your family also attended this church. I remember Polly and Piney. We loved them and their families. My husband, Roger Akers, son of the late William and Angeline Keffer Akers, later was the Pastor of the church. Angeline, my mother-in-law, was still living and was a great blessing to us and others in the church. Later our family travelled and did Missionary Work. Our daughter still travels and minister around the world. She has ministers in over 30 countries and much of the U.S. I do not know if you remember us. Thinking of the McBride family from Fireco brings warmth to my heart and gratitude to the Lord for allowing our paths to cross. I am just learning to use the computer. I am not on Face Book, but the rest of my immediate family are. Hope you have a wonderful, blessed day.
|Sheila||Millie and John Ferguson Photo Request|
I just wanted you to know that I am planning a visit to the Maxey-Ferguson cemetery in Spanishberg, WVa on Oct 3rd and I will take photos of all the stones that are marked. I haven't been there before so I have no idea if all the stones are marked or some are just field stones with the names weathered off, but if there is one for Millie and John, I will happily post them. And if I don't end up going for whatever reason, I will let you know, as this location is several hours from me. Just wanted to let you know because the findagrave "fulfill" button may default back to "claim" before I actually get there.

I am creating a remembrance page for Ronald and his crew lost on the 9th June 1942. If you have any photographs etc of him they would be most welcome.

Hi, I was trying to get Otis marriages in order and I can't get it done on my end. Would you see if you can on your end. Otis first marriage you have is correct to Dora on 1-1-1866, then Otis married Catherine 85176953 on 10-14-1877. Thanks Larry O.
Hello... I'm writing to you as you entered a lot of the names in this cemetery. One of my great-great-uncles was John Lee Corn(e)s from Stuart, Patrick Co., VA, on the NC-VA line. Some time after 1910, he divorced his wife and left the family in Patrick County and married Malinda Birchfield in Raleigh County, WV, in 1917 (she had previously been married to Wm. E. Mitchem and married thirdly Frank Boitz after the death of John Lee Cornes). John and Malinda had one child, a daughter, Maggie Frances Corns who married Henry Beecher Garretson (you have a lot of this Garretson family listed in this cemetery). John Lee Corn(e)s died in Princewick in 1940, and his death certificate says he is buried in "John Lilly" cemetery in Princewick. Do you suppose this is the same as the Hanna-Lilly Cemetery? I'm guessing so because of the Garretson connection. Do you know if all the marked graves in the Hanna-Lilly cemetery are listed? I'd love to find out where John and Malinda Corns and Henry and Maggie Garretson are buried. Thank you... Jeff Hole
