RE: Holy Cross
Me too! At least they changed the snitty notice about how they "owned" all the data for the cemetery and Ancestry and Findagrave have "stolen" it! For one, legally, no one owns data. Second, I and a hundred or mother other folks -- you for example -- have entered data from photos, family knowlege, obits and funeral records, for years before their site even came online...

Hopefully they will put aside their butt-hurt and put it back up. It was a free site, with data provided by the cemetery, for the public to use. I got a kick out of their records for the disinterments from Calvary though -- what a great job they did, and so carefully...

Hope all is well --

RE: Goldman
Thanks. And thanks for your comraderie! I remember your story about the Redi-Whip inventor. I'm not going to re-submit anything just yet. I will try to uncover more information on Roy, but so far an internet search has not been very helpful. It seems that Roy was not considered much more than an extra in his early days on M*A*S*H. He had very few speaking parts. My daughter was an extra and her insights into the industry leads me to believe that they don't give extras any (or few) speaking parts because once you get a few speaking parts under your belt, you qualify for SAG membership. No speaking parts, no SAG membership. They want to keep extras as extras because the pay is low and you get virtually no recognition. Anyway, Roy is in quite a few scenes and only twice that I remember they call him by his first name, and in one episode he gets sick from a medication that is used for malaria and says a few lines in more than one scene. He also appears in the Final Episode with a small speaking part. I thought he was cute and so I noticed every time he appeared in the background in an episode.

I'm going to do my best to find his burial location. He is definitely not at Hillside. That is the first place I tried. But the L.A. area as you know is huge and he may not have even been buried around here. He could have been sent 'home'.

Keep in touch!

Favor to Ask:
Hi Bernard. I hope you are well. I was wondering if you would look at this memorial that I created for Roy Goldman, #130581933.

Findagrave rejected my famous bio, saying that it did not follow their "guidelines.". I have no idea what to do to make it more acceptable. I have read the guidelines several times and I thought it sounded okay. I do not have any other information about Goldman. He doesn't seem to have any other credited work in the industry, and I cannot expand on what I already have on him. Do you want to take a crack at his bio? Also, if you write the bio and it is accepted, how do I go about having YOU get the credit for writing it? That part is a mystery to me.

RE: Edward Maier Sr.
As I recall, you go in the main entrance of the mausoleum, up the stairs toward the chapel area, then turn right and go back toward the entrance. The Maiers are down one of the side corridors. Edward Sr. is in Block B216, Crypt 4, and Edward Jr. and Kathleen are on the opposite side of the corridor.

RE: Monterey City Cemetery
yes, their website is helpful....and it is down at present. Hopefully they'll fix soon!
The Mausoleum's are not on the website nor burials after about 2006. I'll stop by the cemetery office office tomorrow..IS the name Marsh or March?

RE: Victoria Cotton
Good Morning Bernard,
Please send the story to my private email

I really don't have much info on Victoria Cotton so I think I just added her wedding announcement.

I heard that her husband Henry Hamilton Cotton was quite a character as the original owner of La Casa Pacifica Estate.

I don't have the exact plot location but she is buried in the section where the nuns and priest are buried (the section name escapes me now). Her headstone looks like many others in this section and most are all family relatives.
