RE: About the missing John Halpin
Maryann, great detective work. I just showed your message to Merry and reminded her to contact one of John Halpin's wife's sisters. Merry's not exactly thrilled about contacting Allison - but she'll do it. Whether we get an answer is not certain, if you know what I mean.

RE: About the missing John Halpin
Greetings, Bronx.

I will ask that very same question to Allison, John's sister-in-law, when I ask her. I hope I remember to let you know, as well, whatever I learn. Of course, to me, it's a mystery how John's gravesite came to be associated with that specific cemetery only to have the cemetery say he was not there. A good friend died recently and, even though he was cremated, the national cemetery knew exactly behind which panel the urn with his ashes were placed. Also, the stone panel was later engraved with his name, etc. I'd be surprised if John's ashes (if that was what they were) were just stuck behind a blank stone cover held in place with four screws. That would be disappointing.
