THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
by Thelma Greene Reagan
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.

Was able to fulfill your request for Picture of grave stone. Would have liked to send you picture of their home as listed in 1930 census but that location is now occupied by the elementary school for Ayer. I do live in town so if there are other items that I can photograph please let me know.
I am wondering if you have a picture of John Zirkle's headstone or any other information of documented proof of his marriage to Susannah Roush.
I am looking for a marriage certificate and his death certificate.
Thank you for documenting the Zirkle Cemetery as it has been very helpful in my research.

Hi Jonathan. You already have Francis Frederick Childers in Arbuckle Cemetery which is where he is buried at, so this is a duplicate would you mind deleting it...Francis is my husband's 3rd great-grandfather.

Hi, I sent you an edit request for John Monroe Grimes, Jr. (found under your edits tab). The edits are based on census records I have. I also viewed his stone, which has been badly worn, but is still legible up close. Thank you for taking the time to create his memorial. I appreciate all you do to preserve our history.

Thanks for taking this photo of our ancestor, and making this memorial. The stone is so old, and I'm glad you've documented it before it crumbles. Hadn't heard from you for several years! Becky
