Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have always loved to visit cemeteries. Sometimes the stories are obvious and some you can only imagine. I also love to take pictures so it was a natural for me to become a photo volunteer. I also wanted to make a memorial to my stepdaughter Brittney who died from injuries from an automobile accident. That is why I originally ended up on this site. I have gotten more out of this site than I ever expected to. It has helped me in grief, and I have found some very nice people on here also. It has given me a reason to get out of the house and get some exercise! (looking for headstone can be a challenge sometimes!) I have found family in far away cemeteries. This is just the best site ever!

Benjamin Collins
Margie: Please disregard everything I sent you on Benjamin Collins #34936992, I just looked on Find A Grave and found the real Gen Benjamin Franklin Collins with my matching dates. (his name was misspelled)

Your Benjamin is the son. He is NOT a General. (34936992) Yours should be Benjamin Franklin Collins Jr, He was born Dec 27, 1835 in Tuscaloosa County, AL and died September 1, 1873. He married Ophelia Pruit on 20 March 1860 at Selma, Drew County, AR.

Children: Endora Collins b: 9/5/1861, AR - d:3/28/1862 AR., Nancy Collins b: 8/25/1863, AR - d: 12/13/1863, AR, Jacob Collins b: 12/3/1864, AR, Hugh Collins b: 9/26/1866, AR, Oliver Collins b: 8/28/1869, Alice Eugenia Collins b: 5/8/1872.

She died on 7 Aug 1921 at her home in Coryell County, TX. After he died Ophelia remarried William Fowler in Coryell, Co. TX.

His parents were General Benjamin Franklin Collins (#101898357)b: 1811 and Lucinda Duncan (#34937080)b: 1812. Please correct your memorial.
Sorry for the confusion, I should have looked closer to the Collins buried here.

Gen Benjamin f. Collins
Was actually born Feb 11, 1811 in Richmond county, GA.
He married Lucinda Duncan on Jan 11, 1829 in Tuscaloosa county, AL.
One of the children is missing, Mary Ann b: 1848. I do not know why she was missing on the 1850 census.
I have the family Geanology book for the Collins family.
thank you for all you do! I am trying to link and find all the children now!

Thank you for taking the time to take the wonderful photograph of the tombstone for my distant ancestor. I am a descendant of Michael Remele of Pennyslvania and his sons migrated down to Alabama in the 1830's. They changed the spelling of their name from Remele to Remley and Rumley, in some cases. From there, the sons moved up to Arkansas in the 1850's. They were true Arkansas pioneers!! Thank you for all your hard work in keeping the Remley legacy alive.
