I specialize in researching and documenting veterans' burials, in particular, the 103rd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and all other Civil War soldiers and sailors in the Cleveland, Ohio and northeastern Ohio area or where ever else they may be in the U.S. or world-wide. Where possible I would appreciate citations on proposed edits.|

I went to the Cuyahoga County Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Public Square, in Cleveland, Ohio, I was able to snatch a few photos of a couple of men they had out, no touching photos had to take pics through the glass, didn't turn out all that great, I wanted to add Find A Grave memorials for them provided they haven't been added already, but I can't find anything on any of them, I'm wondering if you know of a good place on the web where I might find some info on these 5 or 6 men I have pics of so I can ake memorials for them

I found a published obituary for the John Yau I have posted in West Lawn Cemetery in Canton OH. It was published in the Canton Repository 1895 Aug 29 page 04 and is available to be digitally emailed to you from Starklibrary.org. In the obituary it states that John died in Canton at the home of his son-in-law, Andrew McCort, and that the funeral was to be held the next day and he was to be interred in West Lawn Cemetery.

The information for John Yau that is posted as interred in Westlawn Cemetery in Canton Ohio is from cemetery records. These records are held by the Canton Cemetery Association 4927 Cleveland Ave NW, Canton, OH 44709. Phone: (330) 494-0641. You stated that the dates of birth and death are different so it is more than probable that they are two different men.

Hello William, I just phoned the office and they reported that Franklin Benoni was interred in Section "D", Row 10, Marker 15. I added this info to the Find-A-Grave Memorial and corrected his date of death to the 15th of the month also per the office. I appreciate what you are doing and the time it takes to fulfill requests. Thank you again! Merilyn
