I have been interested in cemeteries and their historical content since I was very young. I was a member of the Columbia Cemetery Conservation Corps in Boulder, CO. We were professionally trained in the preservation and restoration of monuments by Ms. Julie Hendee of Erickson Monuments, Denver, CO. Our director used Lynette Strangstad's "A Graveyard Preservation Primer (American Association for State and Local History)" as a guide in restoring and resetting endangered monuments.
Information about our efforts can be found here:

As a military spouse, I have been fortunate to have traveled the world and been able to photograph many cemeteries.

In the course of fulfilling photo requests for Findagrave.com, my intent is to "do no harm", so you will often see the remnants of flowers or other items left by loved ones in my photographs. I will not move/remove these items, as I feel it's disrespectful. I will also make no attempt to clean dirty or difficult to read monuments, although I do know the correct and non-damaging way to accomplish this.
