If you read the FindA Grave story, you will see that despite wanting to be in the group that went to King's Mountain, that instead he was chosen to remain behind to guard the settlement.

RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 7871904
Vonnie,
Thanks for the inquiry, but most all of my Wier's are Canadian. I am very appreciative of all your are doing with your memorials. I am the Regent of our local DAR chapter, but joined under another ancestor. I, too, have researched and tried to preserve my ancestors for the last decade. Living history and genealogy are fascinating to me!
Take care and many thanks for your service to others!!

Thank you for posting this information about my 6x great grandfather. I am descended from him through his 1st wife Margaret and their daughter, Mary. This is the most complete and factual posting by an indiviual I have read on the internet recently. I appreciate and thank you for having the facts straight before posting.

Thank you very much for your extensive record of William Robertson! I have been searching for some time for the father of my 3g-grandfather, William M. Robertson, who was born 16 Jun 1811 (place unknown) and died p1882 in Union Co. AR. My grandmother, his great-granddaughter, always told me that we were related somehow to Gen. James Robertson, the uncle of this William Robertson. Do you have any further documentation of that family that you would be willing to share? I would really appreciate it!

Barbara Cline memorial
Thanks for responding so positively. I certainly hope this information I gave you was correct, I personally don't know, but this author is very respected for his work.
There are so many with the same names that's it is difficult to work with.
Thanks again.

Barbara Cline - Memorial 92233398
She is likely the wife of David Cline, Memorial# 92235676

I don't know if you are familiar with "The Cline Families of North Carolina 1750-1860" by George B. Cline. It's a well written and document book, in it he states:
"David is born on February 5, 1795 and dies on April 7, 1845 per his gravestone at Old St. Paulís Church. He is in his fatherís household in the Lincoln county 1800 and 1810 census and in his own household in the Lincoln county 1820-1840 census. On October 12, 1819, he marries Barbara Holman who is born in
1799 and dies on December 31, 1858 per her gravestone at Old St. Paulís Church.
David has no children per FH2. Those that appear in his 1820 and 1830 census
household are too old to be his children and may be siblings of his wife. In the
Catawba county 1850 census, Davidís widow Barbara has her deceased husbandís
brother, Jacob Cline in her household."
