I take a lot of photos of the headstones at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Many are dim and are hard to read the inscription. If anyone asks me, I can retake any photo under different lighting conditions and try to make it easier to read.

A few years ago, I transcribed a lot of the Internments at Restlawn Memorial Park:
http://www.usgwtombstones.org/texas/elpaso.html

I recorded over 25,000 burials.
The office claimed years ago that there were over
33,000 Internments there.
When I first started the project, I was allowed full access to the office on Saturday mornings. The manager let me use the Sexton records, plat maps, etc.
When the cemetery was sold, the new manager informed me that I was no longer welcome in the office. I had to do the rest by reading each tombstone.
Since I have 23 relatives Interred at Restlawn, I feel that I should have been allowed to finish the project.
Restlawn will NOT give out a grave location unless the requestor is a direct relative.
For that reason, I will limit my volunteer duties to Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
At Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, a grave location will be appreciated, but not necessary.

Thanks to you, I now can see my grand dad's grave marker! I can't thank you enough! It's wonderful to see it so clearly!I have searched the internet to try and find a picture of his grave marker, and had resolved to have to drive there from Las Vegas, then track the marker down. I was unaware of the "find a Grave" service, you provided Freely of your own time, for people! I'm a guy so,... I say I spontaneously leaked eye water.... Now when I plan a trip to El Paso, I can know just where in the cemetery to go, to visit my Grand Dad. Again, thanks so much!

Alberto Aguirre
Dear Mr. Bowman,

I am researching my paternal grandfather's WWI army unit, Company B, 355th Infantry, 89th Division. According to the History of the 89th Division, PFC Aguirre was severely wounded on 11/4/1918, one week before the end of the war.

I'm not sure where I'm going with my project, but I want to eventually publish something, such as a book or magazine article. Should I publish something, may I use your photograph of the grave of Alberto Aguirre (Find A Grave Memorial# 262476)? I anticipate it would be a for-profit endeavor.

Thank you.

With warm regards,

Bryan Anderson

Charles. Thanks so much for taking the picture for Patrick Bingle. I know you really had to go out of your way to take a pic in a military cemetery. I appreciate it. Thank you!! Lesa

I've added your marker photo to document place of burial in his record in the Coffelt Database of Vietnam casualties at http://www.CoffeltDatabase.org.

We've used a number of your other Fort Bliss photos as well. Thank you for helping us to remember these men properly ...
