A native of Washington, DC, I have a PhD in Romance Languages from Princeton University (whose mascot is the tiger). I wrote my dissertation on Andre Breton. France is my second home and I often travel there. French cemeteries are very different from American ones. I have traveled to every continent (even Antarctica) except Australia. I enjoy visiting cemeteries and paying homage to the great souls who have made life beautiful.
I began by writing "famous bios" for Find A Grave while recuperating from a broken foot. Then I added memorials of my parents and parents-in-law. This opened the gates to an amazing set of new friends from around the world who have visited my family's sites and given me the opportunity of honoring their dear ones. The kindness, caring, generosity and concern of Find A Grave members have been extraordinary. I am especially grateful to Edda Meinikat for so generously sponsoring my mother's memorial as well as my mother-in-law's site. Three such lovely women would certainly have been friends had they known each other on Earth. I am also thankful for the friendship of Janet, the "Cape Codder," for sponsoring the memorials of my father John Stanford Stultz and a special member of my husband's family, Sister Mary Roddenbery. My favorite Find A Grave "cousin", Alice Morton, kindly sponsored my dear father-in-law, Thaddeus Roddenbery. Then Reilly, my friend in Ireland, sponsored the site of my Irish great-grandfather. The circle of kindness spread even wider when Seagull sponsored my Aunt Indie Gutman on the eve of her 109th birthday. The depth and breadth of my gratitude have grown ever deeper and wider. | |

 | Good Morning As I said I never thought they would go to that extent but I am glad they did. What a great thing for them to do that for you. How was your trip to Paris? My son is flying into Paris tomorrow then on to Berlin where he will stay for a week. He then will go to Prague for awhile and visit friends then who knows. He said after the cancer last year and all the stress that entailed that he wanted a good vacation and he has lots of friends in Germany so that seemed to be the logical choice.
Take care | | | Alice Morton
 | Hi Janice When I requested a picture of the grave site of George Hogan I never dreamed someone would put all of the great information they did..What a wonderful gesture on their part. I am so excited for you to get that information..

 | Hugs! It was my honor to sponsor him. My Dad was a Navy pilot in the Pacific in WWII so I felt a connection as well.Added by Seagull on Jun 09, 2013 11:54 AM | | | Rosie♥Mooch
 | RE: A veteran to honor Visited. If you click the edit on his memorial and then do a suggestion, you can put in that he is your cousin and they will turn it over to you for management. Hugs, Rosie | | | Timothy Purnell
 | Another Window Dear Janice!
Once upon a time I wanted to create my own spells of literary and artistic beauty but experience conveyed to me that there are enough unknown wonders for the very few caring minds so I instead sought to enjoy and benefit from those of others. As regards fine paintings, when I am especially attracted to one I can stare at it lost in the soul of the subject and artist for hours.
It is a great privilege to know you and to feel there are still rare people in this modern world who are lovers of romantic beauty. I will certainly visit your friend's memorial: Christy Chakos. I believe he was as fortunate to meet you as you were to have found the echo of your spirit.
May God bless every moment of your life!
Timothy.

 | Helene You can create a memorial for her if you wish. When you get to the part where you list where she is buried just choose "cremated, ashes scattered." If you do create a memorial let me know and I will add her to my visit list as well. Hugs!Added by Seagull on May 31, 2013 7:03 PM | | | Rosie♥Mooch
