A few years ago, I transcribed a lot of the Internments at Restlawn Memorial Park:
http://www.usgwtombstones.org/texas/elpaso.html

I recorded over 25,000 burials.
The office claimed years ago that there were over
33,000 Internments there.
When I first started the project, I was allowed full access to the office on Saturday mornings. The manager let me use the Sexton records, plat maps, etc.
When the cemetery was sold, the new manager informed me that I was no longer welcome in the office. I had to do the rest by reading each tombstone.
Since I have 23 relatives Interred at Restlawn, I feel that I should have been allowed to finish the project.
Restlawn will NOT give out a grave location unless the requestor is a direct relative.
For that reason, I will limit my volunteer duties to Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
At Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, a grave location will be appreciated, but not necessary.

Mr. Bowman, thank you for taking the time to photograph and post Susan's headstone. She and her brother were friends of mine, but I now live several hundred miles away from the cemetery. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for your info. Since they have a policy of giving out grave locations to direct relatives only, I have been reluctant to ask the office for help. There are about 350 photo requests so I think it is a shame that they cannot be fulfilled. Even with a location, as you know, each section is very large. I have taken a lot of photos and posted them, but it would be nice to be able to fulfill actual requests. At the cemetery where my parents are buried in Roswell, NM, the office has everything on computer and they give you a very detailed map of the grave location that you are looking for.

I occasionally try to fulfill photo requests at Restlawn Cemetery. I have a map of the cemetery, but I was wondering if you had any maps that are more detailed of the individual sections? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: William Prelletz
Thank you for pointing out the error regarding his gravesite. I double checked all my sources and they agree with you.
I then realized that the Find A Grave memorial was originally created by the Veterans Affairs Office and I didn't notice the error when I made the photo request. I made the correction and apologize if this caused you any inconvience.
Thank you again,
David
