|Bio and Links|
I've been doing genealogy research on and off since 1994. My research has my family origins back to the late 1600s in Germany and the Alsace region of France. The early 1800s took both sides of the family to the Gluckstal and Kutschurgan colonies in South Russia, now known as Moldova and Ukraine. The late 1800s to early 1900s again brought both sides of the family to North and South Dakota and scattered across the West. |
Surnames of interest: Schilling, Martel, Wahl, Keszler, Erck, Schlosser, Thomas.
I'm currently located in the Charleston, SC area.
Particular interest in documenting female ancestors.
Feel free to use any of my photos any way you like. I would, however, as a courtesy, at least like to know how the family photos are being used and where they are published.
Accuracy is important. Please notify me of any corrections that need to be made to any of my memorials, especially those that do not have a photograph and were entered from a database. Please provide sources to support your corrections.
2012-Nov-17 Began adding source info to bio notes
2015-Oct-17 I will not add narrative biographies that do not provide at least one or more sources supporting the facts in the bio. If there is a discrepancy of an unsourced bio, I will do the research when I'm able and include documented facts only.

Unfortunately I do not live near Strasburg. I hope someone is kind enough to get a photo for you.

I thought I was the only nut to be still up at 4 in the morning!
I got suspicious about Barbara's birth place, so I did some double checking, and discovered I was right. So then, I checked to see where the wrong information came from. As it turned out it came from familysearch. They had two birth records on her, one on an image and the other not.
The one that wasn't on an image was either a transcribed record, or one someone just added to their tree, and altered the birth place to make it fit better. Never mind the importance of documenting.(:.
I really get tired of these researchers who don't have a clue about what they're doing. That was only the first error I found tonight.

When you enter the cemetery look way to your left. They are directly in front of the tree line on the left side of the cemetery. You have to get close to be able to see them because it's always dark by the graves. Good luck!

Thanks for taking my photo request for Benjamin/Bernard Lutjen. I suspect his grave is listed as Bernard and would now like to know if there's a "Jr." attached to it. His dc says he's Bernard Jr and lists his father as Bernard but his father was Benjamin as his marker shows. I know it's not a case of mistaken identity since the wife/mother is Lula Gasque.
There's no rush but I really do appreciate you taking your time to get the photo.

I am writing about your memorial #89638979 for David C. Horenberger. On the memorial you also posted a photo of the headstone he shares with his wife Betsy. As you mention in David's Bio, he was a United States Marine, and I am therefore wondering if perhaps you remember if there was also a military headstone for David? And if so, did you by chance take a photo of it?

Send me a list of other siblings and dates and I will see if I can locate any of them.
