I have been studying the genealogy of our family for over 30 years. My mother-in-law got me seriously interested in genealogy by giving me the book "History of the Hershey Family" by Scott Funk Hershey. The book traced the history of the Hershey family. She is listed in the book and it followed her direct line, as well as others, back to the 1600's. In addition to Hershey, our family includes the Kellogg, Corrie, Johnson, Nickerson, Cheney, Rees, Poppen and Albrecht families to name only a few, some famous and a couple infamous. We are connected to a lot of families buried in the Wabash Presbyterian Church Cemetery, where my mother-in-law is interred along with her parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Other family members direct and indirect are interred in cemeteries located in Crawford, Edwards, Lawrence, Richland and Wabash counties in Illinois as well as in South Dakota, New York, Indiana, Kansas, Ohio and other states and countries.

Some of the information/obituaries I post on my memorials, or pass on to other contributors, may be found in the Lawrence County (IL) Public Library's genealogy department.

I am happy to transfer any memorials that are not a part of my family.

I sent you 6 Apr, a request to remove a dup for her. I also asked you to replace the obit you had for the correct Phoebe with a correct obit. Please check & answer.

These are my paternal great-grandparents. I have pictures of them and their headstone. I'm asking for permission to post them to their site.
Thank you for your consideration.

I have just finished photographing Saint Mary's cemetery in Mt. Carmel, IL. My first objective was to match photos to existing memorials without headstone photos. Secondly, I created new memorials from freshly taken photos.

In this second process I have created duplicate memorials, because of different spellings of last names or something else.

My question is: How do you suggest we correct the duplicate memorial problem?

May God bless.

John Hitchcock, Jr Memorial # 134983779
Hello and thanks for all your work at Find-A-Grave. You mention that you are willing to transfer memorials when they are not members of your extended family. I'm writing for 2 reasons. First, if John Hitchcock, Jr is a family member of yours, then I have to say, "Nice to meet you, cousin!" If not is reason 2....and I realize this is beyond the FG "Guidelines"...I'd appreciate a transfer. John Hitchcock is a 7th grand uncle as he descends from Deacon Samuel Hitchcock, my locally infamous 8th great grandfather, Deacon Samuel Chapin, an early founder of Springfield, MA. John's mother, Hannah was his daughter. Samuel's memorial is at #7153097 where you can see the impressive Saint-Gaudens statue rendered as representative of the Deacon. it was commissioned by Chester Chapin, a wealthy "family member" in the late 19th century. (There's a duplicate added 10 years later at #112531249!) Hannah's is at #54533539.

Thanks!
