My family lived on Maco Stewart's Lazy S Ranch in the early 1950's and I had the privilege to tour Stewart's Mansion in 1951 with Mrs. Virginia B. Stewart as our hostess. I have written The Heritage and History of Stewart's Mansion three times. The first edition resides in the U.S. Library of Congress and a manuscript is in the vertical files of the Rosenberg Library at Galveston. I completed the 1st Revision in a bound book form and donated the book to the Texas and Galveston History Center of the Rosenberg Library, Galveston, Texas. I am working on a 2nd revision and plan to provide a copy to the current owners of the Stewart Mansion for reference by the residents of the new 64 residential units planned around the mansion to be called Palm Bay Galveston in 2021.
