Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been researching my family for several years now and I am in the process of finding the ones who have passed away. The surnames I am interested in are: Gahimer, Boyer, Rader, Schneider, Myers (Meyer), Gegenheimer, Redelman, Fry (Fye), Young, Feldman and Schwind.

I have walked the local graveyards in search of my own family members. While I was there, I not only took photos of my family's tombstones, but I tried to take pictures of all the tombstones. I then created memorials for all the pictures I took on the Find a Grave website. I have no problem transferring any memorial that is not a member of my family, as long as that person is a member of your family. I did this to help others connect with their loved ones who are far away and cannot visit their graves. Also I have found that the find a grave website is an excellent tool to not only honor our loved ones who have passed away, but it is a great tool for family genealogy research. Julie

I went to the memorial and it will not let me edit, add or anything. I am sorry but I do not understand what you are asking me to do.

RE: Thomas Simpson
According to local historian pages, deaths from Milliken's Bend were reinterred at Vicksburg, so I checked there first. Yes, he is buried there - Memorial #130746875. Memorial was added in 2014 with d.o.d. of 6/6/1863 -- where pension records reflect he died 8 Jun 1863 (confirmed in (3) separate places within multiple pages of records). Would you work with the memorial manager to combine the memorials, so all of the detail & links you have on your memorial stay in place? Thanks again for adding the memorial and your help!

RE: Thomas Simpson - #117007041, Burial Unknown
I am pleased that you made the Memorial. I don't normally link to unknown burials, but this is a different. If his body was returned to Moscow, I'll find the record. If he's buried in LA, it'll be a little more difficult. Did your ancestor survive the war ... or also died at Milliken's Bend?

Thomas Simpson - #117007041, Burial Unknown
Julie: Thomas Simpson died 8 Jun 1863 in the Van Buren Hospital, Milliken's Bend, Madison Twp., Louisiana a day after the Milliken's Bend engagement. I will check the IN cemetery transcription. If he is not buried there -- he is buried in LA. Full Widows Pension 38.881, Certificate 28672 File available: http://www.footnotelibrary.com/image/263560374/
