Permission to use Photo Cindy, May I have permission to use your photo of the Eternal Hills Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in my genealogy files. I will certainly give you credit for your picture. Thanks so much for taking this picture.... Carol
Dodd City Cemetery Dodd City Cemetery is a mixed bag. It apparently had been well kept. There was no brush or bushes common to this area. However, I would guess that it has not been mowed in several months.
It is a somewhat unusual cemetery in regards to its markers. I would guess there are well over one hundred graves. I wish I had taken pictures of more of them. About half are cast concrete crosses with small metal plates attached them. I have seen markers like this previously, but not where they dominated the cemetery. There are many plain field stones which might have had names scratched onto them, but are unreadable now. There were many plain polished granite markers with no names. I would assume that these are "reserved" for future burials. Again, I have seen these before, but not in these numbers.
In defense of Dodd City, it is a small settlement with little or no businesses. This results in maintenance of cemeteries pretty much on a volunteer basis.
