I have discovered some of my photos posted on other websites. Therefore a reminder of the Find-A-Grave rules is in order and I quote:|
"ONLY post photos for which YOU hold the copyright (meaning photos you took)!!!
The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is given without prior consent of the original submitter.
Someone posted my copyrighted photos! How can I get them removed or get them properly credited?
It is a violation of Find A Grave policy to post such photos. There is a link to this policy on every single content page at the Find A Grave website. As you probably know, having a policy is one thing, but enforcing it can be exceedingly difficult. Once an image is posted anywhere on the internet, many people believe it is 'free game' for them to take and use as they wish. Physically (or electronically) preventing this is an impossible challenge because anything that can be viewed on a screen can be captured and reused. That leaves us with a policy, which we clearly state and enforce when violations are brought to our attention. Users who have posted copyrighted material will be sent a warning. Repeat offenders of our copyright policy will have their account suspended.
NOTE: Ownership of a copy of a photograph is not the same as owning the copyright of the work of the photograph. The owner of the work is usually the photographer (or their employer), not the subject of the photo nor the person who has a copy of the photograph."
In short, you do not have the right to post my photos anywhere without MY permission! I am as nice as people will let me be! End of rant! :) :)
Also per FAG rules:
Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be YOUR siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
The following was borrowed from contributor Juanda Owens B's profile page with which I strongly agree:
"I think it is a real shame what findagrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some. Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these were people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.
With my apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them".

Thank you so much for the heads up! I believe I let my fingers 'do the walking' and did not go back and check it.

Thank you for the info on North Newington. I am not sure now if it is the new cemetery of not. It shows no burials there. However. I did put Lee there until it can be confirmed.
Thank you for the correction. Have a great night.

Harold R. Todd date of birth is incorrectly published as September 19, 1930. His correct date of birth is September 1, 1930. Thanks! Church Clerk, Antioch Baptist Church.

Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I have a question I'll bet you can answer! I cannot find some info anywhere, and wonder if you know the answer to my question. I would love to hear from you. We may be cousins, also. Thanks so much!

Hi, I returned from my aunt's funeral and entered her death and info in a memorial. In checking what I entered, I see that you had already put something on Find A Grave. Now we have a duplicate. Will you agree to delete your entry, please? (Find A Grave Memorial # 122612595). Thank you for considering this request. So sorry. I didn't check ahead of time since no one in the immediate family enters data except me...that I know of! I don't know your name. Are you in our family? Just checking. Thanks again!

Thanks a million for transferring Trent's memorial to me for maintenance, and for your contributions to the Find A Grave site.
