Bio and Links
Bio Photo Family surnames I am currently researching: WININGER/WINEGAR, THORN/THORNE, POULSON, McINTYRE, SANDERS, BRANSON, BARNES, MILLS, CHAPPELL, MACY, PRICE, LANDERS, TUCKER, RENO, GREGOROSKI/GREGOSKI/GREGORSKI/GRZEGOZEWSKI, HARVILL, PARKER, COLLINGS, BROCK, WEAVER and SHEPHERD.

I am continuing research on a particular bit of the history of McDonald County, Missouri (sometimes called McDonald Territory) and have a page concerning their well-known attempt to secede from the State of Missouri, in 1961. (See the link given below.) Thank you to the then-Governor Orval Faubus of Arkansas who graciously offered to accept McDonald County into the State of Arkansas. "After all," he said, "it would offset the "bootheel." Oddly enough, to this day, McDonald County, although in Missouri, remains as a part of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers Federal Metropolitan Statistical Area. To me, the incident provided a fascinating story, which tied in to another interest: philately and cover collecting (local posts).

Current number of pending "EDITS": 77 (As of 27 MAR 2015)

Thank you to those who have checked and processed your edits!

9-22-2014 NEW RULE: Due to abuse, I am forced to stop accepting "blind" correction messages. If you have your message function blocked which prevents anyone from contacting you, and don't have an email address or some way to contact you, I will likely delete your message. Also, submitting 'proof' by saying that a previous memorial existing with different spelling, with no photos of the marker to verify, or anything else to say why your source is more accurate than mine - is not a reason for me to delete an entry I made five minutes earlier. I have no reason to doubt the survey/source that I took the research time to locate. If there is a photo in the correct cemetery, that's one thing. Also, keep in mind that simple courtesy and respect go a long way, considering we are all volunteers.

RE: John T Bailey
No, sorry. I only know the date of death is 1901, MANY in ancestry have a different date and wife named Mary. Not the same guy. Thank you, no hurry.

I see you have a book about Oklahoma burials, I was wondering if it has John Bailey that died in 1901? Thanks, we haven't been able to locate him.

RE: Pauline Long, Norwood Cemetery
Thanks for the contact info, Wes. If anyone would know where Pauline Long is buried, it'd be Delmar Collins, since that's her brother!

Pauline Long, Norwood Cemetery
I received your message that you had searched the cemetery and could not find her grave. Her obit. definitely states that this is where she was buried. Can you tell me whom I'd contact from the cemetery association to ask about this?
Thanks,
Ruth Ellen Bartels

RE: Rev. Folsom
Hmm, the Choctaw Nation page doesn't list my ancestor, Eve, as his daughter. Eve is mentioned here, but no parents are given. http://www.choctawnation.com/history/people/original-enrollees/ada-virgina-denton-gore-wallis-atkins/ Please feel free to email me if this method of communication is getting tedious. :) erin at thespicelands dot com

RE: Rev. Folsom
That is interesting, thank you. I am descended from Eve Folsom Pitchlynn Riddle who was also the daughter of Edmund and Yokahti. Btw, do you know the source for Yokahti's name? I have never seen one.

Thank you
The stones of James and Nannie Knox look very handsome. Thank you for your generous work.
