Hello, my name is Jean. I live in Atoka, OK and have lived in OK all my life. I am a retired registered nurse. At the age of 12, I informed my Dad that I wanted to be a nurse and a NUN! Needless to say,GOD and my BAPTIST preacher Dad convinced me that being a nun was not in the cards, but I DID make the nurse part! (I also have a sense of humor.) I am VERY SENTIMENTAL! I have been truly blessed to have had 2 loves in my life. My first love was Benny Joe (BJ) Lewis. We were engaged to be married when he was killed in the war in Vietnam at the too young age of 21. My second love (who had lost a fiancÚ in a car accident) Donnie Ray (Bo) Horath, was my husband of 38 years when he was taken home to be with our |
Heavenly Father on June 20,2005, after an 18 month battle with cancer. The cancer may have taken his body, but his spirit is alive and well in heaven! We are the proud parents of two children, Kevin Don and Jennifer Denise. Our favorite movie is 'Love Story', Bo must have watched it a hundred times! We named our daughter Jennifer, after the lead character. Jennifer would later have a daughter whom she named Alli after Ali McGraw who played Jenny in the movie. My life is truly blessed with wonderful family and friends and God's love and peace!

|Pixie ♥||RE: Tornado / Correction|
Good Morning Sweet Jean, Yes, Thankfully the death count was incorrect...but one precious life lost is to many! It is so upsetting to see all the destruction a tornado can leave behind...everything completely gone in a matter of seconds, is more than we can comprehend, unless you have lived through it. Doug and I were so relieved to hear back from You and Mary, to know our sweet friends were safe. Life can be really hard, we have to some how stay strong and try to understand why things happen (after crying so long you can't cry anymore, and asking "why")! When we had our ranch style home built in 2000, we built a Safe Room, it's all steel and poured concrete walls and ceiling 10 inches thick, I hope and pray that will save us from a EF5. Last spring we had a very close call,(our Safe Room is also our closet in our master bedroom), I was so scared, I was trying to think of things I could not live without and putting them in the Safe Room too, until Doug stepped in and stop me...we hardly had a place to get for all the "Memories" I was trying to save!...but God was watching over us, the tornado turned and went east before it hit here. Well, I've rambled on long enough...Oklahoma is a Wonderful state, they are in our prayers every night!
Have a Wonderful Memorial weekend

Good Morning Jean, We are so happy you and your family are O.K. The devastation is unbelievable, we don't have a clue what this would be like, unless you've experienced it. I was so worried about you and Mary Wise, but thankfully I heard back from Mary last night, I knew she was close to Moore, but wasn't sure how close. It is really hard to wrap the mind around what the people of Moore and surrounding areas are going through, it rips the heart out to the think of all the precious lives that have been lost...human and animal. Life is precious, none of us are promised a tomorrow.
Thank You again for letting us know
Please Take Care and stay safe

I would be happy to transfer your uncle's memorial page to you, however, I do not maintain that page. You will have to contact the owner of that memorial. I have transferred your great uncle Glover Mainord to your care.
