Find A Grave is a great genealogy resource. I take pictures of older tombstones and try to get to more obscure cemeteries to provide that special link for someone to an ancestor.

Hi again. I found his published obituary after I wrote my last note. It spelled his name as Robison, so I changed his memorial to that. The 1869 Springfield city directory had a John M. Robison listed, who was a farmer and living at the same residence as James' obituary gave as residence. The 1868 had a William Robison, laborer, living at that address. I would suspect they are either him or his family which would at least confirm the name Robison.

James W. Robinson photo request
I found where James was buried but as shown in the photo I attached, his grave is unmarked. Therefore, it is unknown who else perhaps is buried there as the whole plot is nothing but grass. You can always contact the cemetery office to inquire. Their website page is a hotlink on the main cemetery page of Oak Ridge. They usually answer quickly. Ask for the plot card and they will probably send it to you. If I can be of further help, just message me through James' memorial.

RE: Re Source for John S. Robison
Hi, Ann,
Nice to hear from you. I found that book because I have a relative in it myself, and I was surprised to see his picture and some of his poetry. It was such a fabulous book full of pictures of mostly unknown people that I posted some of them on FindaGrave. You can find the book yourself by putting in the title "Local and National Poets of America with Interesting Biographical Sketches" in a search engine like Google, and look for the hit from The whole thing is there to read.

I just want to let you know that I posted a photo on John's memorial. The source is in the caption. Hope it's okay with you.

RE: Memorial# 137624399
Hi Ann,
If I recall I got the information from the census, ut I'm not 100% certain that's what I did. Do you live locally? The county library in Vorhees has The Courier Post on microfilm, I can go get the obituaries some evening. I'll see what I can document for you.

RE: Riddle Memorial #8635371
I am not related; Claude Riddle gave me his book, which is where I got the family photos. If you check his memorial, you can see it is maintained by a family member and another descendant left a note. Regards, Margie

RE: Transfer of Memorials
Once I get them all on, I'll transfer them! Glad to help you find this branch of your family!
